I’ll just leave this here.

Per the “Player Safety” themselves; to be considered a “repeat offender”, your last offense had to be within 18 months. A silly stipulation imo, but that’s what it is.
Imagine McSorley literally slashing Brashear, serves his year in jail. Comes back to the league and goes “saintly” for a season with no incident. By their rationale, his previous incidents would be wiped out with the 18 month rule.
Same standard was applied to Kadri, despite his 2018, and 2019 Suspensions.
18 months had passed and his proverbial slate was wiped clean.

"It is important to note that even if a Player is not defined as a repeat offender, his past history may come into consideration when determining future Supplemental Discipline."

And therein lies the ridiculousness of “player safety”. Everything is left up to “May”, “maybe” “perhaps”. Wilson boarding on Carlo warrants 6 games, yet a month later, Wilson sucker punch on Buchnevich and pounding Panarin ON THE ICE, warrants...... $5000 fine??
There’s never been any rhyme or reason.
Heck, Shea Weber grabbing Zetterberg’s head and slamming it against the glass didn’t even receive a FINE, let alone a suspension. And that was supposedly the season where NHL was going to crack down. That same playoff season, there was a six game suspension handed out in the St Louis and I believe Vancouver series for slough footing.
