Notes for the Rookies

Everyone has opinions and they are all subjective. Although I have been smoking a pipe on and off since 1973, I still consider myself somewhat of a newbe. I love bantering about things, but I look to the website to help me rediscover the pleasures of smoking pipes. I love seeing posts from new people that get excited about their discoveries and yes some of the question asked can seem silly or insignificant to vet smokers, they are still valid. The one thing I have noticed is there a alot of very intellectual people on the site and I enjoy that but that's not to say that other can't fit in. Just my 2 cents, It is what it is. Go have a bowl and relax. ::

Come on guys… I know this is Kevin’s website, but we can police ourselves a little bit. Over the last few days things IMO anyway have gotten a little out of hand to the point quite a few regulars don’t appear to be actively involved. Its okay to enjoy ourselves but do we have to go so far as to make other so uncomfortable that they no longer want to participate?
And for you “Newbie’s with Attitude” there must have been something here that you liked or found interesting enough that convinced you to join us in the first place, so please ask you question, share your thoughts and opinions just don’t insist in turning this place upside down.
Speaking for myself, one of the best parts of a forum such as this one is being able learn from and experience other people and how their views are influenced by their gender, age, and where they live in the world among other things.
I’m all for busting some ones balls once in awhile but do we have to beat them to death, and no I’m not saying can’t we all just get along but rather can’t we just be a little more tolerant of each other.
