Hi guys can I know if it's okay to not smoke my pipes for about 10 days cos im overseas at the moment?
Thanks
700 days ?I didn’t smoke mine for about 700 and they seem to be fine.
I'd be worried about spontaneous combustion of tobaccanite residue in the chambers and shanks and pipes left that long if improperly cleaned prior to leaving.

That’s only for 9mm drilled shanks. What @Chasing Embers is talking about is tobacconite which is trapped under the carbon layer of the chamber. Briar is not as porous as meerschaum and so it can’t leach through (the primary cause of colouring). I think MM patented technology on using hardwood plugs on the bottom of the bowl as a safety valve to prevent these chamber wall explosions. That extension of the shank into the chamber creates a vacuum which pulls any residual tobacconite downwards. We’ve been over this, Duane. It can only happen during a Halley’s Comet year.
Better companions too.Pipes are more forgiving than wives or girlfriends
