"So now that it's alive again I might as well fess up."
Reminds me of the Seinfeld episode "The Contest."
Jerry: I haven't been myself lately. I've been snapping at everybody.

George: Me too. I've been yelling at strangers on the street.
Kramer: I'm out!!

You guys are so freaking weak. I had no problem saying no to new pipes for months at a time. In fact I have not bought a new pipe for about a year. It is so damn easy, all you need to do is work on your tobacco cellar. I spent most of my time building up a 25 year( 250 pounds) supply of tobacco, that is the way to cure PAD. Seeing as my cellar is complete, I might just buy a few pipes. Of course there is no escaping both PAD and TAD, that would simply be too much too ask of human now wouldn't it?

Ya I'm a little week I admit. Trying to build up my collection a little right now. I want to get up to around 35 pipes and then I'll back off on the PAD. Been working on building up my tobacco cellar a bit also but right now I'm still exploring and expanding my tastes. I smoked mostly aros in the past. Once I pin down a few blends that I really enjoy I will really start packing it away. :puffy:

jkrug, that is the smart way to go, PAD before TAD as your tastes in tobacco can change dramatically and you don't want to be stuck with a cellar full of blends you no longer enjoy. I went from an English smoker to only smoking Virginia, Vaper and Vabur flakes, luckily I did not stock up too much before I switched. I got real lucky that what I did stock up on were Murrey made Dunhill tins that I had bought for 5.00 a tin and sold ten years later for 50.00 a tin.

250 pounds of tobacco? Holy smokes. Do you rotate it, like preppers do with stored food? I realize Virginias will last 25 years without degradation, and may still be improving at that age.

cigrmaster that's what I was thinking and the direction I'm headed. I'm still developing my tobacco tastes, I'm enjoying VaPers a lot right now and slowly developing a taste for English blends and blends with Latakia.

Nice looking pipes jkrug. I do like the look of both Canadians.
So May is almost hear and you will be able to buy pipes again. If you got 5 when you were not buying I cannot wait to see what you put up at the end of May!

I think that with climate change wreaking havoc on agriculture, and political unrest that it's probably the tobacco we should focus on in the near future. That is of course if you've already said the heck with trying to change it.

Valid point for sure newbroom and as the saying goes it's never gonna be any cheaper than it is right now.
fmgee I'm going to try and limit my May PAD to two pipes for myself and one, maybe two for my wife. :puffy:

Actually I have four of those Canadians on the way now.

I'll probably flip two of them because I bought the first two when I hadn't seen any size variation yet, but today there was one 8" and two at 7.75", so I got one of each.
It was especially hard resisting the urge to get this one because it's still a little longer and has beautiful grain.

Though this one and this one and this one were also hard to pass up because they have excellent grain too.

On Thursday I'll be watching for anything 7.75" and up with ring grain.

I was just on their sight admiring those loooong Canadians. I always try to buy the longest one too if the opportunity is there. Some nice looking pipes for sure.
You better pull the trigger soon fmgee before frozen buys 'em all up!

Sorry it's not May yet.
Someone better stick with the original intention of the thread!
In the mean time you boys get smoking so I can hear about how good those pipes are.

Sadly it takes about a month to get here when they only charge $3 shipping (something I have never seen before, but I'm happy to see). Soo I'll be receiving my first set around the 15th.
