Pretty accurate assessment of Kane. And Darnell Nurse isn't exactly a Lady Byng finalist himself, if you catch my drift. He's been watching too many Scott Stevens highlights, methinks...

Agree, Vegas should come out hard in Game 3. And I'll repeat my same mantra...stay out of the penalty box!

It’s disheartening to see the Oilers play so dirty when they had the game with a quick jump in the first.
Disheartening, but not surprising. Things are going to be pretty chippy by the time the series shifts back to Nevada, I would imagine. They will need to stay focused and not get lured into bad penalties by Edmonton's agitators.

The Oilers/VGK series is disappointing so far, two see-saw games. Same for Carolina/Devils & Panthers/Leafs.
Hopefully the next round gets back to more competitive hockey. Round One has 14 OT games that included two Double-OT games. (was that a record?)

I'd have no problem with this outcome. So long as Edmonton and Toronto lose, I'll be happy. The curse must live on!
You and your hangup about the curse.

VGK lost so now it’s 1-1.

Evander Kane is a horribly dirty player. Had been for years. He’s always fighting with Vegas. Hell, I thought he loved Vegas, at least that’s what my bookie says.
Kane isn't the reason the Knights lost 5-1, or got single digit shots in the first, or gave up multiple short-handed opportunities. They came out strong and adapted. It isn't nice to be embarrassed in your home rink, and I would expect a much more prepared Vegas team on Monday.

I agree with most of that. Kane is an instigator with history v Vegas.

I even commented that the Oilers beat us to the jump.

Silly penalties from the jump doomed us. I’ll give the Oilers credit on that.

What I really didn’t like was the Oilers players and coaching staff seemingly gloating like thuggish children during periods two and three.

It’s 1-1. Let’s see how it goes from here.

Kracken vs Panthers would be a cool final series. Two underdog teams. I like both teams.

Those Leafs better be playing today like its Game 7 or they will be one step away from the golf course. And Austin Matthews gets the award for best porn mustache.

I really like the Oilers but hate Kane and I especially don't like that they are targeting Mark Stone who has had two back surgeries. Blatantly cross-checking him in the back is total BS. Leon "Drysaddle" is an odd duck, he kinda' lumbers around out there but can put the biscuit in the basket. Mostly because of ahem..McDavid. And he really needs to try and smile once in a while, he always looks constipated. More fiber Leon. Or maybe an enema.

Yes, the glitter jerseys for LV are nasty but there's nothing worse than my hometown team, Buffalo Sabres when they wear their white Bison uniforms with white pants/breezers. They look like they are skating around with diapers on ! It's hideous ! Way worse than LV, lol But Go Buffalo anyway!

I see nothing special coming from either NJ or the Hurricanes. Same goes for the Stars, but I could be wrong.

It's an opinionated morning.

Here’s what I love about the playoffs ….. EVERYTHING.

During the season I’m a serious HOMER, mainly because I don’t have time to watch more and listen to quite a few games on the NHL App.

Playoffs, I’m all in. I like the upsets, the underdogs, the overachievers, the stories.

I’m much less a homer. Do I want Vegas to win, yes, will I be bummed if I lose , also yes.

But will I be so distraught I’d consider smoking a cob. That’s a huge no from me.

I didn't see that, and seems out of character for Woodcroft. But if you saw it, that's good enough for me, and I hope karma doesn't come back to bite them.

You’ll become the enemy of my enemy which would make you the champion of my champion and for which, I’m not worthy.

Surely you're not old enough to remember the 1917 season when the Seattle Metropolitans became the first American team to win the cup in a multi-league championship series?
Grandparents were the ones who told me when I took up the game back in the late fifties. A wee ibt of trivia which paid for many a beer over the years.

The fighting stuff, always controversial. I personally wish it was outlawed. Maybe the NHL thinks it would lose fans ($$$$$$)

I really dislike the mentality of it. "OK, we are down by 4 goals so lets fight." Lets see if that works. Dumb.

As far as goon stuff goes, the refs have been letting anyone attack and rape McDavid on a regular basis. That's not right.

Fighting is/was an integral part of hockey. Protecting the goal used to be. The "powers that be" have "sissified" the game so that's it's nearly unwatchable for old timers like me. I grew up playing a very physical game, referees allowed the periods to speed by unless, a body check, hooking, tripping were really egregious. A good, solid retaliatory hit, even days after the "perceived" dirty hit were expected, required even. Today's game is much different from the earlier days. Sadly. Enforcers were on the ice to protect the usally speedy, small winger/ Now even a marginally illegal gets whistled down. Players are allowed to "camp" in front of the goal with little or no interference.

But, I still watch the Cup games, always hoping the League and the officials will let the boys simply play the game they learned on rivers and small, cold rinks in tiny towns across the Canada and a couple of the US's northen states. Still, thousands of people still fill the seats, watch the game on TV and such. And, money is the motivator these days.

Perhaps I'm simply a relic and pining for a fondly remembered time . . . long gone. I'm not knocking the wonderful skills of today's players. Just wishing the physical part of game hadn't nearly disappeared.

I grew up watching 60's and 70's hockey..and yes i miss the rough and tough stuff. It sadly went Euro' and soon became pussified. Like the NFL - the NHL both have lost the grit...

I still have to say I love the good clean hits but not the goon tactics. As long as the goons are allowed to "goon" - teams will need enforcers to goon back. Goons and dirty play cause injuries, some career ending and some not.

The older I get the more I dislike "the new." I think people of all ages at some point in their life soon realize this. Thus the term "Well, back in the day..... "
