Loving this tobacco! The price? This is a no brainer. I was smoking HH Pure Virginia, and bought some of this on a whim. Smooth, not hot, perfect Virginia. Recommend highly. I smoked this in the same pipe I smoke my HH in.

Put away several pounds of that one back in 2015. It's a good one.
No comparisons to HH Pure. HH is what FVF wants to be. There is a reason the best Virginia's come in tins and can be hard to find. No bulk offering has the dimensions of the best. At least I've never had one that does. Not talking about value here though.
The Newsminster is very good and a major bargain. I have around 4 oh in the cellar.

HH Pure is quite bland and a poor successor to HH Mature Virginia. Newminster 400 holds a large section in my cellar and one tin of pure was enough for me.
HH Mature Virginia is a melange of different tobaccos...22 in fact cased with balsamic vinegar of some sort. Burley and Orientals part of that 22 list. If that constituents remotely what HH Pure Virginia is then I'm not sure how your gauging your Virginia blends. I'm not knocking Newminster or your praise for the 400. I unlike you tried it and never went back. Indeed began my Virginia journey to suit my own refined taste.
I personally prefer the browness of the Sutliff Virginia slices to 400, but I smoke neither all that often. At its price point I think everyone should have a box or two in the cellar, and while your at it grab some 403.
Considering most production tobaccos have casings to make them smokable, you may want to redefine refined.
400 is a great blend, curiously it’s one of my few “seasonal” blends, as I feel like it really shines in the hot summer months while I rarely reach for it in winter. It also has the best tin note, ever. Bag note...jar note, whatever. It’s mouthwatering.
I found it a great quality budget flake, I'm aging a pound or so. As a bonus, being on a low carb diet this flake stuffed in a cob with black coffee really curbs the sweet tooth.
God, I've been meaning to try this one forever. I have heard it is similar to some of the MacBaren roll cakes? God loves a good, cheap bulk blend!
707 is rad and I never see any love for it. It fits in that Mac Baren Virginia No. 1/Newinster 400 slot for me and it's cheap.
