Yes and so do I otherwise these are nicely made time tested & dependable tools, though on a bit pricey side,I wish they made the tamper end slightly larger but it is a nice tool.
I’ve got an erinmore branded stainless one. I love it. Not so much as a tamper but it’s great for reaming.Just picked up this Joseph Rogers pipe knife. I must say it is a step up from my old czech tools.View attachment 49711
4 Noggins and Amozon has them in stock...enabling...you're welcomePlease don't tell me where you bought it.
I have the same exact model and have wondered the same thing about the tampers adjustable angle. That’s a fancy one. Very nice. I’ve had a plain one with black paint( that’s almost all gone) for a couple decades. Bought it from Greens of Leeds in the 90’s, and have managed to not lose it somehow.
Has anybody figured out why the tamper bends 90 degrees?

They rotate? I don’t believe mine does. I’m not sure they are supposed to?That’s a fancy one. Very nice. I’ve had a plain one with black paint( that’s almost all gone) for a couple decades. Bought it from Greens of Leeds in the 90’s, and have managed to not lose it somehow.
