Hello to all!
I'm Scott and I am from the Shreveport Louisiana area. I have been smoking pipes for 17 years. I am married with two great kids who, thankfully, take after their mother. Work and supporting my kids interest take up most of my time.
My primary hobby is tobacco :) I have 14 or so pipes and also partake in snus and snuff. My pipe tobacco stash is around a pound, snus stash about 80 cans and snuff stash around 2 kilos.
I joined the site in part to see what other people are smoking and this seems to be a very civil and friendly place.
All the best to you and may you all have a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.

Hello, I live in Oregon and just started smoking a pipe moving over from cigars. I will still smoke an occasional cigar but now mainly smoke a Savinelli bent. I like the aromatics so I'm smoking Mac Baren vanilla bulk. I found 82nd Ave. Cigar shop to be very helpful. They spent much time with me showing me how to load a pipe, rub flake, the different kinds of pipes and price levels, and gave me a good deal on a starter pipe with a couple tobaccos to try.
I own a small boat and fish off the Oregon coast (tuna, salmon, halibut).
I'm looking forward to receiving a Hans Christian Anderson II that I ordered. That is my Christmas present to myself, although my wife bought me tins of Peterson Irish Whiskey and Sweet Killarney. I also have two tins of Mac Baren 7 Seas Gold Blend that I've yet to try. I tried a tin of Dunhill London Mixture and didn't appreciate it. Perhaps with time it will grow on me. I have an older Canadian style pipe enroute from an EBay dealer, so I'll eventually get to the point where I can smoke more than a couple times per week.

Good Day to All,
Just thought I'd take a moment to introduce myself. I've Been an avid pipe and cigar smoker for Just about 20 years now. I've never sat down and counted my pipes but there has to be close to 100 or more. I smoke everything from Cobs, to Briars, to Meerschaum (did I spell it right?) I even have a few old zenith double wall ceramics! Clay's Regimentals...you name it, I have it...LOL. Yes, I'm a collector ;^)

Here's a charring light to many in depth discussions amongst this brethren of the briar.

Hello all,

I’m Tim from southern Indiana. I bought my first pipe in 1988 at the age of 18. However there are a few years in that time I really didn’t smoke them that much. I have between 25 and 30 pipes. None of which are high end, mostly Savinelli’s. I am married without children and have two Jack Russell Terriers. My wife and I hunt and attend trials with our terriers which takes up a lot of our free time. My other hobbies include shooting and riding motorcycles but I’m moving away from the bikes to spend more time with our dogs.

Hello all. My name is Mark and I live in Atlanta with my wife and 8yr old son. I found this place while searching for Atlanta pipe clubs. Since I don't smoke in the house I've been trying to find somewhere to smoke with fellow enthusiasts. It gets lonely sitting on the deck by yourself! Actually it's very relaxing and I enjoy my smokes but it would be great to be able to sit and talk all things pipes and tobaccos with some like-minded folk while having a few puffs. Anyway, great to be here and I hope to make some new friends.

Hi folks!
I'm Ryan, a 33 year old mental health nurse in Nottinghamshire, UK.

I've only been smoking a pipe properly for a couple of months after breaking out the Peterson standard my father left when he passed a couple of years ago. Enjoying the passtime very much, learning the basics and what i like, and have a small collection of about half a dozen or so pipes already.

One of my hobbies is woodturning, which i've been doing a few years now, so i think i will have a bash at pipe making sooner or later...
Thanks for the welcome and friend requests. I've lurking for a few weeks, but thought i'd say hi properly!

Hello Group,
Been smoking English/Balkan for a long time. Just recently jumped into the Flake world and can't get enough, 1792 is my current favorite. Where oh where is that FVF everyone is raving about?!

Hi, everybody. I've been lurking at this site for a few months and have flirted with pipe smoking since I was sixteen. When I set aside the cigarettes four years ago pipe smoking became a much more enjoyable substitute for getting a little nicotine in my system. My wife and I have twin sons - both college freshman - and they surprised me with a Nording pipe on Christmas Day. (I haven't broken in a new pipe in over thirty years so I'm not relishing that task. Estate pipes, once sanitized, are my personal favorites.)
