Well it’s been a while since I updated. I have smoked this pipe quite infrequently, maybe three bowls one day and then a few days off. I’m at about 25 bowls and starting to see some of those “veins” pop out in the shank. I’d say by bowl 50 it will have some nice coloring.

I'd like to suggest you try to use the same place and lighting to document the coloring process. Include the back of the same business card for more precise color balancing.I realize that it’s hard to see in these photos
I am more of a smooth meer guy myself but damn the curves and lines on that pipe are outstanding.
Same here. I have a soft spot for lattice but its definitely not one I would go around town smoking. More of a "quiet night on the patio with a glass of scotch" pipe.
Thats really interesting. I would say its just from hand oils until I see the shank is coloring too. I am actually really curious as to why that is. I have seen some MM corncobs color up on the bowl as well, brown like tar.
Savinelli Series III dedicated to Pembroke. All I did was smooth it out with a 12000 grit micro mesh pad when I got it.
