Really????? Are we seriously in a holding pattern again??? I love the concept of this thing and tried to be as generous as possible but the lack of communication is annoying. I would rather someone post "F**k you all, the box is mine and I'm keeping it you losers" then not know. For all of the kindness and generosityI have seen from the members here it amazes me how this cog in the system can happen.
We ought to have contact information that was one of the new stipulations- this crap has to stop.

I followed the thread quite a ways back and can tell you where I feel we lost it.
EVERYBODY that was waiting for a big box of tobacco was ALL OVER this thread ... no Quincy.
I went 3 or 4 pages back and didn't see him anywhere.
Perhaps actively following the thread can be a new requirement prior to the next pass? Just thinking.

It is impossible to legislate behavior.
You can set all the rules that you wish, but if someone chooses to ignore them, well....they ignore them. Romeowood has made valiant efforts to instill a sense of ownership and responsibility in the Box Pass participants. Adding more rules, I'm afraid, will not alter the outcome. The only way to assure compliance with the Box Pass rules is to have recipients sign a contract and tender a deposit. That sort of negates the whole "Brotherhood of the 'Baccy" thing, though, don't you think?
Despite our professed high opinion for the pipe-smoking community as a whole, it turns out that we're no better than the general population. That's both disappointing and reassuring. Having to live up to the outlandish standard of honesty and relative decency is, after all, such an unreasonable burden to place on someone that you have bestowed your heartfelt generosity upon.
The only time that I've ever seen absolute honesty on the Internet is on a forum of Federal Firearms License holders, where reneging on a firearm transaction could result in felony charges. All of that predictably decent, dependable and conscientious behavior gets so tiresome after a while, though. It just doesn't seem normal.
So my hat's off to the 'Baccy Filchers everywhere for keeping us human.

I'm runnign the box pass over on reddit and we haven't had any issues but it takes a bit more work. Once a guy receives it. I personally contact the next person on the list and ensure that he's ready to receive it. Then after verification I hook both guys up and tell them to coordinate. I have all info, cell, home, address etc. But that next guy down the list won't receive it if he doesn't respond.
Ok, sorry, it was a long night. One of the longest.

I hate to constantly make the trip all the way up and then all the way back down Mt. Sinai with these commandments, but y'all have to help a brother out here with your basic participation in this whole scheme. Unfortunately I don't have the free time that I used to in order to micromanage this; if anyone else would like to carry the torch then get in touch with me. Alternatively, if anyone can think of a better format than the person who holds the box confirming the next person before sending it, let me know.
@rsuninv--to be fair, google reconfigured some of its backend and I missed PMs for a little bit, then I'd inadvertantly sent the emails to the wrong guy on the list--kcpoe instead of quincy--so it's my fault that there was such a lengthy delay this time. Mea culpa. As far as I know, Quincy was ready to send this out 3 weeks ago, and is still in good standing with the powers above.
And to that, here is the updated list. If you think you've been struck from the list erroneously, then post on the thread and contact me.
