I'm gonna' start dieting right now so that there's room in me for all this stuff!
Actually, it looks like there's a good bit of room left in the box...and nature abhors a vacuum. Or, to paraphrase my father, as he surveyed his overstuffed garage: "The junk expands to meet the space".
I'll make that happen.
Bring it on!

Hey woodsroad - I noticed there is some bags in there that are getting pretty damn dry. If your additions are anything like rsuniv I say you take some of those dry baggies out. Just my two cents. Maybe you can send samples of them to some of the people who donated large amounts to get this thing started again and again. :)

Dry is OK for non-aromatics, you can always rehydrate. Crumbling dry is not good. I will rehydrate and repack into mylar ziplocs where needed, and throw in a few extra bags. My blends will need drying.
PS, just got the tracking number, rsuninv is playing hot potato!

Looking good guys.
Derfargin - I put the Greentree Tobacco in the box. They are the closest thing to a B&M to me. Owners are super nice but I haven't frequented them in a while. If you are ever in southern NJ shoot me a PM. Maybe we can meet up for a bowl or three.
Have fun Dan. Looks like you will be getting the box in record time.

Thanks, Dan. I do get down there from time to time. My mom has cousins that live in the big continuing care Jewish community campus there. Of course, that whole area used to be my coverage area when I worked at the Inquirer. I barely recognize a lot of it now, but it's always nice to drive past the Melitta plant and smell the coffee.

The Eagle Done Landed.
I can smell it all through the cardboard.
I'll have the box for a week. I'll be repacking a bit, but more importantly, Russ Ouellette has offered up a contribution, which I'll pick up at the next Lehigh Valley Pipe Club meeting on the 30th. So, if you are in the area, please stop on by The Wooden Match in Bethlehem, PA at 7pm and say hello.
In addition, I received a second box from rsuninv, chock full o' goodness. There are some lucky Box Pass recipients down stream......

Some of the contents. I was going to spread it ALL out, but my back wasn't up to the task of it.

Here's what was in the second box from rsuninv!
Now, it is immediately clear to the olfactory that there are some aromatics in this box that are ghosting up a storm. I'm going to repack them into mylar ziplocs. I'll leave a few extra bags in the box, should you be motivated to share something especially fragrant.
Let's just say that this box is over-the-top wonderful!

Woodsroad I think you made a mistake on the rules. rsuninv was supposed to send his box backwards so I should have gotten it first. :)
That looks amazing - well done fellas!!

Ennerdale.

Cursed be thee, oh Ennerdale!
It stunk up the entire box. Ghosted a good 15% of the contents. Any tobacco that was packaged in a sandwich-weight baggie is toast. The stuff in freezer-weight ziplocs is OK, but the outside of the bag still smells like Ennerdale. So I repacked everything into mylar bags, took the detritus that smelled like Ennerdale, mixed it all together, cased it with a secret ingredient that does not include dog slobber, and Voilà! We have Box Pass Blend 2014!
So, going forward PLEASE use freezer-weight bags, and if you are donating aromatics of any strength, please use one of the mylar bags that I'm sending out with the box.

The box is damned near full and I haven't added anything yet! I best get smokin'!

I had to look that one up ... holy toppings batman:
Almond, Fruit/Citrus, Other/Misc, Tonquin Bean, Vanilla
I can see why it may have fumigated the contents!
BTW ... if the box comes up missing does "my dog ate it" count as a valid excuse? :D

I'll be in Voorhees, NJ the week of July 7th. I'd be happy to meet up for a bowl or two somewhere. I'd prefer later in the week as the beginning is going to hectic for me. Friday, is not good because I fly home then. PM your schedule and lets work something out.
@woodsroad
Up for a meet and greet? :puffy:

Cobguy, once the dogs smelled that Ennerdale, they ran from the room. One of them lost her dinner. The other just curled up and whimpered all evening.

At the risk of offending some well-intentioned person...who smokes that crap?
Derfargin, you bet. That week is fairly open right now, so I'll let you and Dan work out a time...
