Unfortunately, this is my hometown and the city that my father built his first jewelry store. The entire town will smell terrible for a week afterwards. Parades, vending, mule swaps, and different types of mule competitions. It is not uncommon to just have stray mules walking about town on this weekend.
Who has the largest? well... I guess they all claim to be the largest, but I guess there's probably a woman out there who knows for sure. I hope I never meet her, ha ha.

I love those smells. They remind me of a childhood on the farm that taught me how to work as part of a team with animals, and that a little hard work and stink and sweat and poop and pee wouldnt kill ya. We took our team to Columbia several times. Raising draft horses and mules was an experience I wouldn’t give back for any amount of money.

Beautiful pics!

I never worked a mule team, but when I was 10, I asked my father if I could have a garden. He called my great grandad, and he came over with his mules and plowed up a section of the yard for me. He brought the mules over for a few more years for me… till… girls, then I kind of lost interest in gardening till I got married. Funny how that works.

I was lucky enough to plow potatoes, and tobacco, and haul logs with a mule team. I had an uncle and a grandfather that worked mules, and I really miss it all .Teen years I left it all behind, and have fond memories.

I managed to get a nice haul today. Got a Briarworks OR01 with beautiful grain, my wife picked out an awesome Evan Wiseman Dublin for me (apparently his first pipe made since '18), this neat little Baby Winston, and a Pipes&Pistons Tamper.

As for tobacco, I grabbed 3 tins of the Mueltown show blend, 2lbs of the Sutliff Sweated, and 8oz of Cowboy Coffee.

I met a lot of awesome people these last two days and I'm overjoyed that my wife actually enjoyed herself too!

We'll be headed home before the show starts tomorrow (have to be at work at 4am Monday) so if I didn't meet you, maybe we'll run into eachother next year ✌🏼

Nice haul. That is some beautiful grain on the BW pipe.

The storms on Saturday prevented me from attending then as I had to care for the horses in the barn. But I did get to go on Sunday and while things had been picked over, there was still a lot and a good crowd.

Last year I bought five pipes but I was much more restrained this year. Just got a T shirt, a tamper from Pistons and Pipes and a restored Ben Wade Blackfriar pipe from Robertson Pipes. Oh, and they had a book on Sutliff Tobacco Co. that I picked up.

Good show........

I was at the show open to close on Saturday. It was my first one ever, and it was great! I asked around to find as many forum members as I could find, but I didn't come across very many. Shout out to @Oddball for doing a great job checking folks in.

I saved up a bit and was able to really do well, I thought:

1000000800.jpg
-2lb Sweated and the Per Jensen pouches from Sutliff along with a history book, cutter, pin, and a t-shirt.
-2 tins of C&D Muletown blend
-Squashed tomato I just fell in love with from Crappy Pipes (Scottie Piersel's husband makes them).
-3 "Good" cobs, including 'The Raven', which i have wanted for a long time.
-And some tobacco I got from Redeemed pipes. 2 jars SG Chocolate Flake (4oz total, roughly, S10 total), 2oz Country Squire Rivendell for $3, 4oz Boswells Northwood for $5, 2 2 oz 4th Gen aged VA ($20), 1 tin 2012 MacB Navy Flake and 1 tin Kriek era no1 VA for a lot, sadly, and my big score was just under 8oz of 'unknown' that is SPC Plum Pudding for $7. Smells like PP, looks like PP, smokes like PP. I shared with 3 other guys there who all agreed.

All in all a fantastic time. Bonus for getting home safely and finding my house still standing. Just thunderstorms had hit it, too.

Definitely not jealous... I've wanted one of them reverse calabash cobs for a coon's age and a half...
What a haul.
Is the sweated really that good? Please lie to me if it is 😂

Thank you! It is different than the last round of reverse calabash. The stem is not removable. I didn't even notice until I got it home. I have one from an earlier release that has a removable stem.

Regarding the Sweated, I fear it will be like Cpt Black Grape in my cellar. I got two cans of that, but missed out on pouches to actually taste it. I don't want to just crack a tub and take the chance I won't like it so it sits. With the Sutliff sweated, there were no samples, so I don't want to just bust into one of those either. We shall see.
