And a good day to all of you.
I've been smoking tobacco for about 20 years now but only recently learned to really enjoy it when I bought my first pipe and
pipe tobacco, a cheap and small Savinelli with a slight bent and a pouch of Clan, pretty much exactly 11 months ago.
Love at first puff. The history, tradition and "science" behind it, the taste, act and serenity of it. I loved it all and still do.
That's why I came here, because I love reading and talking about pipes and tobacco.
Along the way I also acquired a love for simple clay pipes. Humble but elegant, imperfect but pure, tricky to use perfectly but easy to maintain. I think they reflect very many of the paradoxes and philosophies of life itself.
They also have some history in this country... or pretty much everywhere.
Not to mention the clean and true tobacco flavors they offer.
Speaking of tobacco, I prefer to mix my own blend out of fermented but otherwise untreated, EU grown, raw tobacco leaves that I buy from local sellers. It's dirt cheap and I'm poor so that's good, I can also learn the taste of the different single tobaccos and their curing methods while being able to also prepare and mix everything up as I like and I'm loving it.
I just wish I had the vast selection of tobaccos that you guys in the U.S. get to choose from.
Anyway, glad to be on board!
I don't want to drag this post out too much so feel free to ask if you want to know anything else about me, I'll be happy to answer.
Tomorrow, though.
A good nights sleep first.
