[/quote]TW, happy to read that Mᶜ40 has little or no ketchup / vinegar.
Give it 2-3 years and all that Virginia goodness will come to the fore.

I've been smoking this nonstop. It's so good. Someone reviewed it on tr as an almost perfect tobacco I tend to agree. It doesn't have that pronounced ketchup aroma it's a lot more plummy to me I wonder if they changed the secrect sauce ? I fully expected a typical very good Virginia like the cheers but this is very different

Just picked up a couple tins at my B&M. I'll probably get a couple more next week. Can't decide whether or not to open one!

Wow, I've really fallen in love with this tobacco! I love McClelland already, but I haven't up to this point tasted a virginia from them that has this particular flavor to it. This has a brighter grassier taste to me that I haven't found in thir other virginias I've tried (Blackwoods, Xmas Cheer, Dark Star, Navy Cavendish). Are there others that have a similar taste profile that someone could recommend?

I finally cracked a tin of this just now, and am smoking it in my Bruce Weaver egg. It's like a milder, sweeter Christmas Cheer. Good stuff! :puffy:

Smoking my sixth bowl now, and an convinced that this may have been intended for a future Christmas Cheer release were it not discontinued. It has that red Virginia spiciness that I love.

I'm closing out a tin of CC 2013 and adore the the medium-full taste, sweet and rich, perhaps tangy earth, using the descriptors that Jim Inks might use. I read that CC is already aged 5 years before tinning.

Chasingembers: Your "sweeter than Christmas Cheer" comment has me pretty excited. I'm trying to hold off at least a year before I crack a tin of 40A, but I'm not sure I can do it

I wanted to wait too, but the red Virginia bug was biting, and wanted to stave off any urges to crack open a tin of CC until Christmas.

I see no reason to do so, the stuff is good/great right out of the tin. I did put half in a jar to age. :puffy:

For some reason seeing that this thread had reached the top of the heap, my mind went to its second availability, and I was right! Just ordered 600g!

Scored another 10 tins of the 40th. Biggest tobacco score in years. I figured that with CC gone and the many rave reviews I've read, it was time to strike. And in the anti environment, It may become impossible to get the VA that MC does best.
