Thats a great looking pipe!!! I haven't seen that one yet always nice seeing your meer collection.
I've always wanted a baki bulldog but looks like I may have missed my chance. Very nice pipe and i think you may be correct about translucency on that baki.A little Tudor Castle in this Fikri Baki. I really like the way this one is starting to color up. And I might be crazy, but I’ve always thought this one has some of that “translucency” people have been talking about…especially in the bowl. Regardless, it’s a great pipe.

Enjoy it, they color as quick as lightning. This is mine after only 35 bowls.

Are you still smoking the banana blend in that one?IMP horn (banana meer)
In my opinion the less cake the better for coloring. If you have cake built up it creates a lining in the bowl/chamber and doesn't allow for the pipe to absorb any of the new tars, nicotine, oils, etc. which is what colors the pipe.Been smoking only meershaums all month so far (some Turkish, some Missourian ) but today it's a Nate King prince - I'm starting to wonder if my habit of keeping the bowl clean (no cake) is preventing it from coloring, I've using (and abusing!) this pipe for 3+ years now and it's really not colored that much...Compared to some of these folks who are just on their 50th bowl, this guy is looking pale as a ghost:
Here's some close ups of the stem and rim where I see the most coloring:
Both Sutliff D55 and Kendal Gold Banana! I got it just for banana blends. Are you still smoking the banana blend in that one?
