I see what you mean about the skulls...Yanik is quite an artist though. I really like that Davy Jones of his.
That is very impressive. The latticed bulbs on the shank really enhance the overall effect.
I love looking at these elaborate figurals, but I doubt I'll ever buy one to smoke. Maybe someday if I either see the right one or I get inspired enough to commission one.
That's why I've got the Emin brother's floral beret, just to look at. The only reason I smoke the Kenan skull is to see how it colors, but if I delve further into meers it will be basic shapes to smoke and elaborate carvings as display pieces.

It was a nice Sunday, so I had two bowls yesterday.
First was some W.O. Larsen Indigo in my old calabash.
Second bowl was Firedance Flake in my sailing ship by Bolgi. (I don't know who he was other than he carved this pipe.)

My Monday after lunch smoke. HU Haddes Best Irish in my 1950s Kirsten with a meerschaum bowl.
Well my ongoing PAD flare combined with March Meer Madness has yielded my first army mount. Had to have this one...it's on the way:
I like how it has a matching silver cap. Balances the whole look.
Ultra elegant. Beautiful piece, congrats.
This is my one and only meer... smokes fantastic!
My only 2 Meers:
- A African Meer I bought as my only Estate pipe. It has some sort of Animal on the stem, only partly still visible. It was really dirty when I got it, there was even fossilized tobacco still in the chamber. Tried to clean it, and removed most of the oxidation on the stem. Terrible "old Ladies underwear" ghost and therefore smoked it only once.
- My recent Altinay that I handled carelessly and where the screw-in tenon came loose recently. Just fixed it today by cutting off the thread part, and gluing the remaining tenon into the pipe. Works perfectly again to take my 9mm filters!
Another day, another meer. This is my U.S. Coast Guard meerschaum by Servi, which my wife bought me for a Christmas present a couple of years ago. I decided to use it to finish off my last HU Haddes Best Irish.
That is a beautiful pipe and colored up quite nicely.
