Tell me it's a figural of a roaring kodiak bear. Go on.

I hear Alaskan-themed pipes are doing big, competitive business up that way these days.

No. But, check this out. I wrote this a couple years ago and, thanks to you, the Alaskan figural meer I just had made will have a partner soon.

@BarrelProof - you two are gonna hafta pack in an extra pelican case for your two, seven-day Alaskan pipe sets next time you join up on a moose hunt.

Lord help you if you get a big bull and have to do a pipes vs meat weight limit calculation for your charter out. Hopefully you'll have smoked enough that tobacco weight in can be displaced by trophy weight out.

Name the bear figural "Lucky" in my honor and I'll see what I can do to get a SCooSA up that way.

Did you read that article I wrote? Lucky is a wildly applicable name for a pipe like this! Let me get to the drawing board and see what I can come up with...

Fortunately the plane belongs to @alaskanpiper. So, if needed, we can make multiple trips. I feel confident speaking for both of us in saying that there's no way in hell we'd leave pipes, tobacco, OR any game meat behind! In fact, we're planning a hunt for later this year and I think it may end up being the initial smoke for this first meer commission. In a world typically governed by ultralight packs and long hikes in/out, we've made it a point to call whiskey, tobacco, and pipes "acceptable pleasantries."

I've got 3 meers, 1 is over 100 yrs old...the original owner had it for 50 yrs. and I've had it for over 50 yrs...the lion's head has an amber stem with a bone bit.
The other 2 I've had for about 40 yrs. and I smoke them mostly.

The only pipe I will smoke this month is a feather-light no-name meer purchased in Turkey in 1986. Not very refined carving, but the stem work is exceptional, and the draw spot on. It provides a good 2 hour smoke.

Currently smoking Condor Plug, well rubbed out.
