I made notes about my first many tobacco purchases, after having smoked a few bowls or a tin, when I was very young and can only wonder why my later preferred tobacco for decades, yellow Capstan scored so much lower than the blue, which I also still love. Recently (last ten years), I remember loving RM Scottish Cake, Dunhill's London Mixture, SG English Summer Flake and Dunhill's 221b Baker St. from the first bowls. I still love them all but I still mostly smoke yellow Capstan these days.

A recent thread by @Etipton had people mentioning things like warming up to a tobacco, never finding a tobacco that they loved from the get-go, loving the first smoke but getting bored later on, etc.

What about tobaccos you loved at first smoke, and that immediately became a daily smoke?

Having tried ~25 tobaccos, only Luxury Navy Flake has been like this for me. The deep, wheat toasty flavor of this VaPer won me over immediately.
Howdy Philosopiper,

Back in 1986 I tried a Dunhill tobacco for the first time by the name of Royal Yacht. Here it is 2021, and I still smoke it every day. Sure hope my tastes don't change because I have a few tins of the Murray's era Royal Yacht... in fact, probably enough to last me the rest of my life three times over.

There are a number of them for me. Esoterica Pembroke was one, Penzance was another before it got so hard to get. Now its more of the GH&Co blends:

Rum Flake
Dark Birds Eye
Kendal Dark
Kendal Mixed
Exclusive Black Cherry mixed with Black Sliced
Dark Flake with a dash of Latakia

Caminetto Lombardo and Como were love at first smoke but since they are discontinued I dole them out slowly.
