That's a recent development. If it sticks I may have to go back to being a cigaretter.I used to think pipers played some kind of musical instrument, until I started reading this site.

I mostly smoke at home, so when I lose pipes, it tends to be around the house, and I encounter them fairly soon.
Or a snuffer? If it sticks I may have to go back to being a cigaretter.
You make living in LA sounds awesome...you seem to have great moments to share...always cracken me up!I had a churchwarden that I left on the ledge of an outside service window at the neighborhood coffee shop. I forgot to take it with me when I put the coffee on an outside table. Couldn't have been more than a minute. I went back to retrieve it only to see that it was gone and that a homeless guy was headed away from the window. The pipe not being in his hand, I assumed it was tucked into one of his very soiled pants pockets and decided that he could keep it.

Good for you that you took the best with you! Hearing about the lost pipes bugs me, and they weren't even mine.Back in1982 I was stationed at Incirlik Air Base in Adana, Turkey. My wife was back in the states and broke her ankle and was alone with my 2 yr old son. I was able to do a family hardship move back to the states. I had an incredible meerschaum collection and some beautiful briars that I had brought with me shipped back to the states. Only one meer I physically took with me when I left because it is of the highest quality meerschaum and it is flawless. None of the other shipped pipes were ever returned. The military said that they assumed they were stolen. 31 pipes were gone. But I still have my perfect meer in its original case and it is still unsmoked. In 1985 it was appraised at $350. I have no idea what it is worth now. But at least they didn't get that one.
