Lost Pipes

When to the casino this weekend to celebrate my birthday. Took a few pipes with me as I always do. Decided to light up my 4 hole stinger Kaywoodie Drinkless with a bowl full of GLP Temple Bar as I was playing some penny slots. Decided to change machines so I sat the pipe down as I gathered my other items and walked away without picking up my pipe. About 5 minutes pass before I realized I had left it. When back to the previous machine but it was long gone as I figured it would be. Not a big deal it wasn't one of my favorite pipes or anything. I just enjoyed it for its smaller size so it was easily pocketable for times like that. But it got me thinking how bad it would suck if it was one of my favorite pipes. So let's hear those story's of lost pipes. I can't be the only one.

But on a side note hit up a B&M on the way back home and found an 8oz bag of Esoteric And So To Bed. So not a complete lost this weekend pipe wise. First time I've had a chance to get ahold of a unicorn blend so to speak. Cant wait to try it soon.

When I first started smoking a pipe I had a little French panel .. I went to the post office and apparently I dropped it as I got in my car. I then backed over the thing and crushed the bowl. I heard a loud “pop” and saw the stem fly across the lot.

I had a churchwarden that I left on the ledge of an outside service window at the neighborhood coffee shop. I forgot to take it with me when I put the coffee on an outside table. Couldn't have been more than a minute. I went back to retrieve it only to see that it was gone and that a homeless guy was headed away from the window. The pipe not being in his hand, I assumed it was tucked into one of his very soiled pants pockets and decided that he could keep it.

I mostly smoke at home, so when I lose pipes, it tends to be around the house, and I encounter them fairly soon. With standard items that I carry, I try to be habitual, specific items in specific pockets or stowed where I usually put them. Some are continuously looking for keys, glasses, pills, etc. That would drive me crazy. I did lose my wedding ring until I got it sized a year or two ago. Before that, someone else found it in the refrigerator crisper drawer; I found it in a sports jacket inner pocket where it had slid off; and I've found it in a glove several times. When I travel, I usually carry cobs (though I consider them permanent pipes and haven't lost any). If I take a briar, it is a work horse pipe, not the best I have.

None yet. I almost left a tin of Balkan Blue at a pipe club meeting in November though. As expected, another member alerted me to my mistake just as I realized it and whipped around to sprint back. Good souls us pipers. Would have been 50% of my Balkan Blue stash ?

I suppose. Never got too hung up on the labels. If pipes were called Crazy Doodle Sticks I’d still smoke them.

I used to think pipers played some kind of musical instrument, until I started reading this site. Haha I'll probably lose a pipe someday, but none so far. I bet I've gone through a truck load of lighters over the years.
