Thanks. That was the first pipe that Bruce Weaver made for me over ten years ago. Oddly enough, all of the briar pipes I've posted in this thread have been from him.

Two of my favorite smokers are a Dutch made Amphora canadian and a Chacom lovat.
One sort of shape that I find exceptionally attractive but have never owned is the sort showcased by @Chasing Embers here:

These are not the same shape of course ... the first has an acorn bowl and upward curve in the shank, the latter has a dublin bowl and straight shank, but both feature somewhat flared bowls and flared shanks and are among the handsomest pipes I've seen.
I have no need for more pipes and don't see myself getting more ... but if I did, I'd be looking at this sort.

HS Studio pipes often have long shanks and can be had for near nothing.
I haven't moved from straight pipes yet... which makes me more happier because I still have so many shapes to explore!

Four styles of pipe are considered part of the Candian pipe style. All based on a billiard bowl, proportions of shank to bowl vary from source to source,
Canadian: oval shank w tapered stem.
Lumberman: oval shank w saddle stem. Typically longest proportions.
Liverpool: cylindrical shank w tapered stem.
Lovat: cylindrical shank w saddle stem. Typically shortest proportions.
All leggy pipes with the same heritage. Gotta get 'em all!

I have been considering one with metal innertube
I have some pipes that would qualify as "long shanked", but I don't have any pipes longer than 6" and damn few of those. Most of mine measure are about 5.5" in length.
Lovat round shank saddle, Lumberman oval shank saddle…correct?
Pretty sure the next pipe I buy new (which will be my second
), will be a Rossi 8806.
