I’d like to recommend Davis and Son Tobacconists if you are ever in Wilmington, North Carolina. The store has been around since 1976. They have a good selection of cigars, pipes, and accessories. They also have their own pipe tobacco blends that are made in store rather than mass produced pipe tobacco. It is like a small museum in there as well. The owner has been collecting Tobaccoiana (I hope I got that right) for years. I’ve been going there for almost a year and have always enjoyed the experience.

Sadly, though there is no limit to the number of "tobacco shops" that are manned by men that smell like cat pee and try to upsell you bongs that look like that smartass parrot from Aladdin in my area, true brick and mortar tobacconists are not in any of my neighboring counties. It's doubly vexing when you know that WV has the highest percentage of smokers in the country. I know pipes and cigars are niche, but if such an enterprise had any chance of success anywhere, one would think WV may be such a place. Alas.

I believe there may be a B&M in Washington, PA., and that would be roughly a 45 drive from where I am at. But when I try to find info out about them, I come up empty. No social media presence, no website, no reviews, nothing.
This might help you if you ever travel to North Carolina. I’d like to recommend Davis and Son Tobacconists if you are ever in Wilmington, North Carolina. The store has been around since 1976. Pipes by George in Raleigh N.C., between the NCSU campus and the downtown on Hillsborough Street, is a classic traditional pipe and cigar shop with a walk-in humidor, a plank floor, a dart board, a smoking table (grandfathered in), a wall of pipes, a row of bulk tobacco jars and an inventory of tins, and a pipe-guru proprietor who is soft spoken but authoritative. If you live near or visit town, a definite destination.
The same with Davis and Son Tobacconist here in Wilmington, NC. Except for the dart board and smoking table.

Cargo Hold in Poulsbo, WA is my local shop and pretty darn good, run by a very knowledgeable guy. I'm in Boston semi-regularly for work and Peretti's is fantastic.

What is your go-to local B&M? Like, let’s say a max of 45min one-way trip.

Kinda selfishly posting this as a one-stop shop for those occasional Tiki trips I take. So many vape shops now show up on Google when you search for tobacco shops. It’s great to have personalized recs. Plus, ya know, might run into some of the members here!

I’ve had several ppl reply when asked, but thought it might be nice to have it all in one place

If there is already a thread like this, I didn’t see it and I’ll defer to the mods.

Just for Him in Springfield, MO

They have a lot of cool stuff here from hats to shaving supplies. In the next room they have cigars and a pretty good selection of pipe tobacco and pipes. I try to stop in there once a month or so. If anyone is in the area I would recommend it.

Cigar Daddies in Lacey, WA is my go to local. They're the only place near me that has a decent selection of pipes and blends, if it wasn't for them I'd be stuck smoking codger blends bought from seedy shops that focus more on bongs, cigarettes, chew, and porn DVDs. I've been going there ever since I was in college, back then it was strictly for cigars as was the case until I got into pipes this year. They've got about 25 or so blends, mostly Stokkebye, Lane, and Sutliffe. That might not sound too exciting to most of you but when you're in a state that bans online sales it's a godsend. They're also the best place for cigars in the South Sound area, the prices are the best you'll find outside Rez stores.

When I make trips to Akron, I make it a point to visit The Pipe Rack, the most eclectic Pipe & Cigar shop I've ever found.

Amazing store. Didn't realise it was two buildings at first. Thank God someone told us. Also stopped in Canton on that trip. The second store was sad. I won't mention it by name other then it had pipe in the name of the store. Akron? Amazing and wonderful. Canton? Not so much.

Village Cigar Company in Burlington Ontario. A retro shop that is like stepping into a time warp. Although mainly specializing in cigars, they have a nice selection of pipes. They also bring in C&D and Mac Baren products. The shop also offers haircuts in an old fashioned barber’s chair. Great bunch of guys.

And I thought the shop in Elgin, IL, that offered pipes, tobacco, and fishing supplies was odd. (“Pipe and Rod,” maybe? It was in a shopping center known as “Gromer’s Plaza.” Long gone now.)

Yeah, it’s cool. Like a one stop guy’s destination 😊

Guess I should probably start.

I live just a few miles from a great shop… Pipe Puffer in Indianapolis. The guys there are great and quick to show you what just came in and answer questions. I stop by every week and burn more cash.

Went there today thanks for the recommendation, got some Three Nuns Green and Palmetto and a little Rossi prince I've been eyeing online for months glad I could support such a sweet B&M, they got the goods in spades...

In my own neck of the wood, I like Davidus Cigars, though their inventory of pipe tobacco is mostly bulk - at least at the locations I've been to.
If I feel like more of a trip, I go to Gettysburg Cigar Company in that city (up by Cemetery Hill, at the top of Baltimore Street).
