I have been on a major TAD binge lately and have been determined to get about 20 tins of the Klondike Gold. I already had 3 and with this 7 and another score from a small place I found I will almost have my 20. Just to make things interesting and NOT copy off of Brian Davidson, I decided to pick up this guy:

OK, I caved and put an order in for 3 tins. If it's really better than Capstan Blue, then I gotta try it.
After seeing Harris suggest packing cube cut flake tightly, I tried it a few months ago and I'm a believer. It seems to work especially well with Capstan. Very dry and cool, and that method also seemed to produce a larger volume of smoke for me.

Picked up two tins from my B&M tonight. Brian generously opened a tin and passed it around the pipe club. It received rave reviews from the Virginia fans.

Love love love this stuff. I think 4 of us smoked some tonight and they were all thoroughly impressed. There are two tins left at the shop and I guarantee they'll be gone by this weekend.

I smoked some in my new Sav, and the relationship was spectacular. That is my first new Sav and I guarantee it wont be my last. It smokes just like the Chinook Brian, so maybe you can copy off of me this time

I smoked a bowl today and it didn't do much for me. I have 6 tins I hope my tastes change down the road but for now it goes into storage.

masspiper, what type of pipe did you use and how large was it. Also how did you prepare the flake? I have found that cube cutting or fold and stuff works great. Do you normally smoke VA flakes or are you new to them?

Dan, I think you will find that the BKG will smoke great in any flake pipe you own, I have found that to be the case with me.
