Love this show, just starting to rewatch it again too. I remember the Goode Family and I thought it was hilarious! Wish it could have kept going. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Mike Judge is a genius!

i lived in TX for a few years. I didn't fully understand the show until I had lived there for a few years. You don't either. There's stuff in it that only someone who lives in TX can really understand.

My father-in laws side of the family is all from Texas, from the town that Arlen is actually based off of. My wife never lived there but spent many a family vacation out there. Her grandmothers house is basically a one for one copy of the Hill’s, swordfish on the wall and everything. The first time I showed her KOTH she went for a head trip and couldn’t believe how accurate it was, her grandma is basically Peggy, even has some of the same mannerisms.

I've heard that it's based on some suburb of Dallas (there are about 30 of them), but there is definitely a lot of ATX in there. The local football team is called the Horns. The hippy kids from the local University. Now you're making me miss TX. Which I don't. But it was an absolute gas living in ATX. The girl I took home with me is all the TX I need in my life now. ?
