Regarding a resurgence in the popularity of Ben Wade, it may be due to a post-Lane era re-incarnation of that name.

According to Milan Tobacconists' promotional copy,
Resurrected in 1998 by Duncan Briars (another great British pipe family), the drilling and finishing standards

of Ben Wade handmade pipes are at the level of more expensive pipes; the bowls are carved at the same

pipe factory in London, England, where Dunhills are made.

Thanks for that info on Ben Wade Cortez.
Tonight for a night cap...
Escudo Navy De Luxe in Poker Chip.
I usually only smoke my Ben Wade Calabash in the Winter.

The bowl is perfect for warming the palms.

However, I may smoke it on the morrow.

Been on a Perique kick; getting an unusually deep and round musty-pruney-dark taste from it lately.
