I have a few pairs of skinny jeans I cut at the knee but that’s it. I’m taking actual jean shorts with a hem and a hugely open leg. They look like a skirt

But, I know what you are talking about. I used to wear oversized baggy jorts about 20 years ago, when that was the normal style in my area at the time. Depending on your body shape and cut of your shorts you either look like a giant oversized 5-year old (me), or it looks like a jean skirt, as you mentioned.

I have a 5 year old son and the other day he was wearing big camo shorts, a batman t-shirt, and big chunky shoes, and I'm pretty sure I wore the same outfit when I was 19-20 haha.
