Hi gents, just wanted some opinions on whether this is mould or not. I’ve never experienced it, and I remember seeing another thread where a piece of twine or such was caught in the tobacco. This seems very fibrous as you can see. I do not detect any foul odor, but the blend is topped with rum which may drown that out. I can try and take better photos if this isn’t sufficient. Thanks for your help.

No its asbestos fiber to ensure an even tobacco burn! rotf

Actually that looks like a wild flower seed of some kind.
It does look rather like that.

I dont think it is. It is tough to tell but it my experience, mold is much more fuzzy and white.
Do you guys think I should smoke this stuff or just pitch it to be on the safe side?

It may well have been!

Thank you for your replies gentlemen, I am on the fence about just tossing out the whole thing, I threw out the parts that I identified so far with that substance, I am going to sleep on throwing it away, in the interim I've got this jar "quarantined" far away from the rest of my tobacco just to be safe.
