Yes, in fact I told him that Pitney Bowes would 100% steal the pipes. The two Dutch bowls are both house pipes (just over 2"), but not the massive 'O' House Pipe. The one with the screw-in is rare, but it also could be a replacement for a normal push stem.

His response:

Some of our buyers use shipping companies in the U.K. that we send the pipe to then they send it internationally but I don’t know any specific companies."

World is so upside down today...I used to buy pipes from the UK and they shipped by Royal mail...I guess the best way is to know somebody in the UK who will ship it to you...

This is the first UK seller in a long time who wouldn't agree to ship Royal Mail. In this case it was a loss for each of us.

Oh I agree. I use a cutout. I have them ship it to a friend in England then after a few pipes build up, they ship to me. Costs a couple of bucks extra but I’ve been able add some nice burners to me collection.

Yes, it is a different one! Call it good fortune as these are incredibly hard to find. The 1903 is the A4 shape, a Dublin with space fitting mount originally known as the 31S. Finish is warm and rich with the briar displaying beautiful starburst and birdseye grain.

And, I think the oldest GBD I've ever seen? (1891 hallmark - with ornate silverwork). Surely the only one of it's kind in the world?

Old Bruyere's aren't anything special - but with the right shape number, that's where the magic starts - 499, 498, 283 or 284 bring the big bucks.
