There are some really nice pipes being made by some very skilled artisans. A pipe by someone who is dedicated to the craft of combining the best materials with exacting tolerances to provide eye appealing functionality would be my choice.
One of Walt Connoy's would be just fine with me. I love the suede blast and the smooth contrasts.
Never tried Castello, Dunhill, or a lot of others but of the Petersons, Big Bens, Brighams, Savs, and Stanwells I've tried I have to say my Favorite brand would have to be Rattray. But my Big Bens are a close second.
I would have to stick with Brigham, my Brigham pipes have served me better than my others so far. I do not own a Peterson, but they have always by a long shot been the nicest looking pipes I've seen. Bought my brother a Peterson 314 in May for being my best man, I was tempted to keep it and not tell him, haha.
Castello. Only have one, an estate, but it is simply a magnificent smoker. If it were a budget consideration, then Savinelli. I have many and they have never treated me poorly.
I'm so new to the whole thing and have limited myself to buying cheeper pipes at the moment. My most recent pipe was a Molina and a really great smoker. But I find myself really wishing for a Savinelli. The 320 looks so great and it seems like they are in my reach price wise.
although I would love to say MM, they are not the most aestetic pipes. I do enjoy their versitility and durability. But if we are collecting for collecting sake and I have only one choice... glad I don't only have one choice... but it would be...that's a big commitment... the same pipe for ever and ever... but I would go with...
