LOL at unclearthur..

I smoke in my garage with and electric heater blowing at me, I think its time to insulate or kick one of the kids out and make a smoking room.

I smoke Pipes in the house, but not cigars. When the Bride gets crabby

about it, I remind her that I was smoking a Pipe when I met her and paid

the mortgage off on the home. I guess maybe she thought she was going to

change me...?

You should see the rest of the trucks in the fleet, especially the owners...he has to pull up to the dumpster and take all the trash out of the passenger side if I need to ride with him.

I have been married 33 years and have smoked for over 40 years the pipe. I guess we are all becoming wimps but after smoking in the house for 20 years, my wife lost both of her parents to lung cancer and she became an anti and I moved to the outside. I am either on my back porch or in my garage shop a lot these days.

I smoke inside. First I had to make sure to use wife-approved blends but now it seems like I'm allowed any blend. I guess I spent so much time on the balcony that I was missed.

I live alone in my family ranch home. My dad smoked here. My grandad smoked here. Nobody is telling me I can't smoke here. Did I mention I was single?
I am proud to be a pipe smoker and nobody is going to tell me to use the garage which reminds me of sneaking a smoke behind the barn when I was a kid. I shake my head in wonder at the guys who have been banished from their own homes like pariahs, cast out by their own families like they were doing something shameful.
As an accomodation to house guests, I rarely smoke while they are here and have never had any negative feedback about the inside air (my pipe racks are clearly visible that I smoke). Cigars would be different in re lingering aromas, however.

I'm somewhat envious of you single guys who can smoke where ever, but I love my wife and she doesn't want the house smelling like an ashtray, which, with some of my VaPers and Burley blends, it could. If it keeps her happy, I'm OK with the garage.

I invested 350.00 into ceiling exhaust fans for all rooms. The trick is to make sure you have a window open just a crack for the exhaust fans to be effective.I've never had a complaint again from the previous complainers since my weekend installation.Often there not even aware that I am smoking a pipe.

I rent so I'm obliged to smoke outdoors most of the time. But with the high rent I'm paying, the fact that I'm otherwise a good tenant, and the principle that I disagree with a landlord dictating my lifestyle, I occasionally make well-ventilated exceptions. Not to mention that winter is often damn cold here, with wind and wet weather common throughout the whole year - pipe smoking outdoors sucks most of the enjoyment out of it for me. I find I rush more often than not and smoke too hot, when I could just be puffing away leisurely indoors. When my finances are more secure and I get my own home some day, I'll definitely find room for a smoking den and also rig up my basement for brewing!

Man....am I glad to hear that!! I just ordered the material so I can put together an exhaust sytem on a timer that'll pull the smoke up out of the man-cave into the attic and empty the room.

Thanks for the exhaust fan tip. I have one that I pulled out of a clients bath because they wanted one with a light, It runs great. I have a small room with a window that I can shut off from rest of the house. I'm thinking MAN CAVE SMOKING ROOM....YEA. I can come in from the cold. I'm going to install it tomorrow. I'll keep everyone posted

Every once in a while, I take the dog for a walk and I'll take my pipe along. As long as I keep moving, I'm kinda warm. Not having anyone else in the house, I do smoke inside, but I bought a medium-room-sized air purifier.

I got the exhaust fan installed in my little room, works great. No smoke or smell seems to escape from the room into the rest of the house. It got my wifes approval. The rooms kinda small more like a big closet, just enough room for a chair and small table but it's warm.

At clarkson U smokers have been discussing this since the dawn of time. We found a sketchy old astro van at a junkyard for 100 bucks. the frame was rusted thru as were the brakes, but the engine runs so it has heat. We now have a smoking lounge that can be towed to a storage area when needed.
