I know what you mean. Most of the time having a smoke is just a nice experience, and then other times it's the real deal. I've found that its all about the mood that I'm in and if I can take the time to just be in the moment.

Semois is a Belgian Burley grown in a very specific location. The shag cut is a very fine shag, and a great smoke - try it in a small pipe. This stuff is worth a try when you can find it - I love it.

It’s good to hear, from multiple folks, that “getting it” takes a while. As a newbie, my main hurdle is smoking too damn fast. it didn’t take me that long to find what I like in pipes and tobacco, but I suspect those tastes will eventually shift. In the meantime, I’m enjoying the process of learning to slow down and the tongue bite has subsided 😂!
