Welcome to the forum! I want to visit St. James to see how the tobacco is processed, but have not really found much luck on-line locating a facility that offers tours. Do you have any suggestions?Howdy, y'all! My real name is Sam and I live just upriver from where holy Perique is grown. I'm 72, retired, USAF vet, never married (but got a wonderful GF!). I'm a licensed pilot, I collect firearms, and I enjoy good tobacco. Been smoking a pipe seriously for the last couple of years and I really enjoy it.
I'm looking for some guidance and input from experienced smokers, so I'll post my questions in the appropriate forum. Nice to be here!
A few years ago before Percy Martin passed he would sometimes allow people to visit his Perique farm/process in Paulina, I don't know about "tours". His son Ray now runs the farm and I don't know it he would allow visitors or not. You might give him a call and ask. The last number I have for Percy is (225) 869-8885, that was in 2008. Good luck.Welcome to the forum! I want to visit St. James to see how the tobacco is processed, but have not really found much luck on-line locating a facility that offers tours.
