Welcome from SE Texas. I assume by "just upriver from where holy Perique is grown" you mean Paulina?

Welcome from Pennsylvania and New York.

My girlfriend in college had Choctaw lineage—I haven’t thought about that for years! I’ve only been to Louisiana two times (New Orleans, specifically)—the first time with the aforementioned girlfriend and her parents for Christmas vacation at their time share in 1984; the second time in 1988, to play darts in the inaugural New Orleans Dart Open (my friend and I placed in the Top 32 Cricket Doubles and earned our fees back).

Howdy, y'all! My real name is Sam and I live just upriver from where holy Perique is grown. I'm 72, retired, USAF vet, never married (but got a wonderful GF!). I'm a licensed pilot, I collect firearms, and I enjoy good tobacco. Been smoking a pipe seriously for the last couple of years and I really enjoy it.

I'm looking for some guidance and input from experienced smokers, so I'll post my questions in the appropriate forum. Nice to be here!
Welcome to the forum! I want to visit St. James to see how the tobacco is processed, but have not really found much luck on-line locating a facility that offers tours. Do you have any suggestions?

Welcome, Sam, from San Antonio. I guess you were in about the same time as I was in the USN, '69 - '75. Scary and good times. Thanks for your service. Being AF, I'm sure you've been to SA, one of the larger AF retirement communities!

A few years ago before Percy Martin passed he would sometimes allow people to visit his Perique farm/process in Paulina, I don't know about "tours". His son Ray now runs the farm and I don't know it he would allow visitors or not. You might give him a call and ask. The last number I have for Percy is (225) 869-8885, that was in 2008. Good luck.
