I'm 68 tomorrow, first real smoke of a pipe was 60 years ago thanks to a 'progressive' Grandfather and 32 more years will see me break even on my pensions contributions and start making a net gain. Another 2 years and I'll have start planning for retirement.
Aging is so different among people. Some are set and settled at thirty. Some people evolve and are signing up for dance lessons at 93. My dad died at 89 licensed to drive without glasses and never drew a dime on his long term care insurance. My late wife died in full bloom and mid-career at 52. Time is a rascal.
28. Smoked my first pipe when I was 18 fresh at college and didn't know what I was doing.
Picked it back up again this March when I realized I had tucked away a pipe my mother sent me through the mail that I left at her house when I was back in the USA for vacation. It happened to be my first pipe that I bought in college.
If not for my mother sending me it, I probably would be writing this. Momma knows best!
I turned 47 today! And that is apparently old enough that I had to scroll thru the first 2 pages of this to make sure I hadn't already posted...
Young enough that my pipe smoking seems to amuse my peers as well as anyone of any generation that doesn't currently smoke a pipe. So 23. It's interesting to see people's reactions at times but in the end it's sad to see some who look at you like your doing something wrong...then again my age and the general feelings towards smoking some of the public holds explains that. I did see a kid a few years younger than me at a cigar a pipe store in PA last week asking the clerk for advice on what pipe to buy. I didn't hear or see what he decided on though. I hope this wasn't too long.
