I counted mine, and it seems I have 3 dozen mylar bags and jars that I smoke from (and a single tin haha). I don't smoke all of them equally, some only get smoked once in two weeks, for instance, but I still consider them as "active". Basically, almost any tobacco I buy loose, I want to smoke it.

What about you? Are you a type of person who opens a tin or a bag and smokes it till it's done? Or maybe you have a dedicated blend for every day of the week?

I have over 20 blends that I consider "in rotation" but only because I'm still trying things out. I've been smoking for a little over a year now and don't light up every day. It takes awhile for me to get through any one blend, so I consider everything I own to be in rotation. I think once I get a feel for the different genres there will be much less in my rotation, but will likely stock up on others to smoke at a later date.

I currently have about three dozen active jars, mostly four and eight ounce, which I move about randomly for each smoke. Trying to whittle that number down, but I've been more adept at saying that rather than actually doing it.

I'm with @BingBong although I will add that some of these blends I have seem to taste like the asteroid belt... 🤪

I've got 30 to 40 jars of stuff I smoke periodically, some very regularly, and about 6 or 8 tins open at the moment. What I want to smoke changes regularly and I grab something that sounds good.

Have it always been this way for you, or have you started smoking fewer blends as you got more experienced as a pipe smoker?
I've always had about the same number of "active" blends, but curiosity and experimentation have lead to more open containers than when I was starting off (back when I had like, two pouches and a tin all from B&M's).

"Current rotation" is War Horse, Gentleman Caller, Haunted Bookshop, Cob Plug, and Cult BRM, though I will dip into the jars and other opens - just those are most of my consumption at present.

I don't really have a rotation. I have 52 mason jars in my tobacco cabinet that are not part of my tobacco cellar. I can smoke from any one of those 52 at any given time; however, there are some blends in there I haven't smoked in a very long time as they're not favorites. Sometimes, I'll stick to just a few blends and smoke them regularly for a while, and at other times I'll pull something out that I haven't had for a while.

I have about 8 in rotation. Basically 4 burley blends, 2 va, 2 english. I try hard to keep the jarred part of my cellar alone and not crack into them. Id really like to get to the point where I crack something open and smoke it until it’s gone, but we’ll see - i like to switch it up.

And also, I will always keep a Haunted Bookshop jar around, i smoke that 2:1 (typically) vs everything else.
