I have to use a wheel chair and a walker. I used to stay in shape by playing lots of tennis in the Florida heat and only played singles. I also used to shoot hoops now and again. Played some street hockey, played catch with Lacrosse sticks with my oldest son, also played golf .
After 3 back surgeries, the last being spinal fusion with lots of metal, I was toast. I also had 2 foot surgeries, 1 shoulder, 1 wrist. All from playing sports. I have severe stenosis in my back and neck. Viscous Neuropathy in my feet and legs. I also have early onset dementia from all the drugs done in the late 60's to nineties.
It is a wonder I am still alive but I can take a beating. I have had kidney stones over a dozen times. I had Bells Palsy 3 times, Viral Meningitis 2 times, pneumonia 4 times. It is a miracle I am still breathing. I not complaining as I had a great time, I have 4 great kids and I got to travel a good deal.
You are a good man,and God bless your family...............He did his job well................?

I am one of those people who do not know how to run properly. The last time I tried running I wrecked my lower back somehow. I have not tried running since.
A great first step is to look up some videos on "natural running form" or "barefoot running". I'm not an advocate of actually running barefoot, but the basic idea is that if you watch people run barefoot, their whole foot is like a spring, where they strike the ground with the midfoot or the ball of the foot, flexing to absorb the impact of footfall, and then pushing off the ground to propel the runner forward.

By contrast, people with bad running form tend to stretch out too far with their feet (not keeping their feet under their bodies), strike the ground hard with their heel, then roll onto their toes for a push-off. It's very inefficient, and much much tougher on the joints.

I either go to the driving range or play golf most every day. I do some light weights and flexibility training as well. Doesn't sound like much but I've dropped almost 20 pounds in the past 6 months since seriously taking up golf again. At 195 now and that's a very comfortable weight for me.
Weight lifting is very very important.............maintain a minimum of muscles,....Metabolic activity is better.....Golf is a beautiful sport.... ? ?

As a production artist I'm sitting in front of a computer with a Wacom tablet in my lap for hours on end. I do break that up with stretches and the occasional lunt. Never was an issue before digital, since I stood all day before my easel.
My recommendation to start is to avoid "power" yoga or flow. Look for a traditional yoga studio, even better if it has restorative yoga, which is gentle. You can always work your way up into more challenging, and quite possibly damaging, forms of pop yoga.
I know exactly what you mean. I still do some traditional work, but it ends up digital in the pipeline. Will do thanks for the suggestions.

Due to nature of my occupation in the past and even now, despite the average age of mine I'have to remain more or less ship-shape physically, so long distance running has always been what I do,nontheless I must confess, I'm staring to feel I have had enough ,it can be so boring especially when the weather conditions are lousy,

You're still alive, kicking and making the best of it from what I've read here. Keep on, keeping on!

Congratulations on the weight loss. Golf is a lot more exercise than most realize, especially if you're walking it. I am HORRIBLE at golf!?

You're kinda putting us on. You drag moose carcasses out of the back country. You walk to hunt. You have a daughter, which must involve some cardio just to keep up with her.

Haha, this is all true. However I also eat those moose. Calories in, calories out. One of those two outweighs the other currently, and as a result, I outweigh my scale, hahaha. All those activities help me maintain an absolute shit body. If it wasn't for them I'd be the fattest pig you've ever seen, hahaha.
