Before we were locked down, I was going to the YMCA twice a day, in the mornings to have coffee and hang out after doing my cardio, and then in the evenings for weight training and swimming laps. Us old people get the Silver discount, and it is a great way to stay social. My wife liked the social part, I mostly drank coffee and read the paper.

Now, I just jog a couple of miles in the morning or ride my bike for about 6 miles. We have a rails-to-trails just down the road that makes it a nice ride. My eyes pop open at 4:30 every morning, no matter what time I went to bed or time of year.

Also, my fitbit tells me that I get the most cardio from mowing my yard, so sometimes I will mow it a couple of times a week, just to get some diversity to my workouts.

We also eat what we grow, and try to watch our sugary sweets, like cobblers, and pies... but watching isn't as much fun as eating them. puffy
Way to stay active and social. I gave the 'Y' a go for a while, definitely hard not to be social there, ended up running my mouth more than anything. Now I hit local walking trails and just say "Good morning!" In passing.?

I used to run 4 miles every other day, and lift weights on the days I wasn’t running. Then my knees started bitching me out every time I ran more than a quarter mile. So I’m in the middle of some unwanted weight gain right now. I need to figure out something to do that’s a little easier on the joints I guess.
Same here with the running. My knees just can't take it anymore. Give just walking a try man, way easier on your joints. I just switch up the places I walk so I don't get bored.

I have a blown knee so running is out for me. The only bike riding I get is at work and i ride a tricycle around the plant several miles a day. At home its just farm chores and chores the wife gives me. I did go on Keto last year and dropped 60pounds
Congratulations on the weight loss! You are plenty active, bike riding is a lot nicer on the knees than the impact of running.

I walk about 4 to 6 miles a day abd otherwise do yoga and strength training daily. It slows the rate of decay.
That's my theory. I really need to take up yoga. I do some basic stretching during the day and after walks just to stay loose. But I think I would benefit from something a little more structured.

Same here! I miss it if I don't get a walk or two in.
Being an illustrator, you really need that. Sitting for a long time is bad in all sorts of ways. A lot of people think that my bladesmithing and blacksmithing would keep me in shape, but other than a hammer arm workout, it’s actually mostly sedentary work. Lots of standing at a grinder, sitting at a bench doing fit and finish work. And then at my “real job,” teaching school, I normally walk around the room most of the day, checking students’ work, but now with COVID, we were told we can’t do that. So I’m sitting all day. ?

My hobbies and activities require me to be fit to enjoy them.

Dirtbiking, hiking/backpacking, fixing/maintaining/cleaning things, motorcycle track days, big into SKIING.

I have adjustable dumbells and a bench at home, which I use to do a little bit of upper-body stuff, but very rarely to be honest.

I used to run but stopped due to the toll it takes on my bum knees. I've switched to running uphill and that has fixed that and has seriously changed my life.

I'm a marathoner, though lately I've been more into shorter trail races in the mountains where I live (anywhere from 3 miles to half-marathon). I also do yoga three times a week, lift weights 3-4 times a week, and do a lot of hiking with Mrs. Hap.
You marathon people impress me. I know anyone can give it a go, but the discipline involved is astonishing.
