Are larger vs. smaller bowls a factor in pipe dedication to certain blends?
@jiminks mentioned in a review I read once that a Pot, with it’s bigger chamber/bowl allows for more nuances to come through. I think I said this right.

And this seemed to come across for no particular blends, so I assumed more pronounced flavors in any blend when smoked in a Pot.

I hope Jim might give a word here, pretty please... ? LOL ?

After reading this, I’ve been looking to add a Pot to my collection.

I keep my pipes dedicated to specific genres, rarely to specific blends. I do have tobaccos that I only smoke in a specific pipe. I have one Castello that is the only pipe I smoke McConnell Scottish Flake in, but I smoke other flakes in it was well.

The only one tobacco, one pipe dedication I have is a nice little Caminetto pot, which makes all other tobaccos taste like playodough and old grass clippings, but smokes Tilbury clearer, fuller and sweeter than any other pipe I own.

A wider burning surface allows the smokers to capture effectively everything a blend has to offer.

The trend I notice in this thread is that when it comes to smoking aromatics they are thrown into one pile. So does anyone dedicate pipes to specific aromatics or is there no need to care and one can smoke any aromatic in any pipe dedicated for aromatics in general?
This is a good Q. And as I mentioned in the OP (I think…it’s been a couple days now, and you know…the memory…) but I think I mentioned my Savinelli that I have dedicated for aros. And I’ve smoked everything from Lakeland to cherry to vanilla in it, and at this point, basically everything tastes the same in that pipe. And it’s not great. So it might be a good idea to dedicate aromatic sub-genres in some instances.

I figured I would just do it by vanillas, maple, cherry, berry, bourbon that sort of grouping unless someone comes up with an idea I think is better!

I smoke any and all blends in every pipe I own.

I do, however, rotate blends and pipes to keep from smoking the same blend repeatedly in the same pipe.
