I grew up on red hotdogs with the snappy red dyed natural casing. It‘s a Maine thing. Grilled or boiled on a steamed or grilled buttered bun. Yellow mustard and sweet relish. Maybe some chopped onion. Delicious. Between the hotdogs and the cherry Kool Aid I had my share of red dye #40 growing up 😉

I still like them cut up and mix into mac n cheese. Or grilled is good too. Heck, I'm usually just hungry and lazy and eat them straight from the package. And let's not forget corndogs.

Best ones I've ever had my brother gave me and were caribou and came from a butcher in Alaska.

I'm really more of a bratwurst guy if I'm honest though.

Had two loaded Chicago style jumbo dog’s yesterday from Portillo’s here in Tucson. As good as in Chicago and much better than the local Sonora style hot dog.
I love Sonoran dogs; I'll have to give Portillo's a try. I still haven't tried a Pat's chilidog either.

When making dogs myself I prefer gilled with brown mustard and kraut.

I'm not picky about my hotdogs, grilled, dirty water dogs, microwave, as long as they have brown mustard.

I've been to all the East Coast hot dog stands. "Rhutts Hut" in lovely Pasaic NJ is a favorite (they fry their dogs). Home of the "Ripper".

My favorite is Hofman's Snappy, a Syracuse NY company (with two local restaurants). A couple of Snappys will cure what ails you. You can order online and I've been told Wegman's carries them.

I'll eat almost anything once. And some, I keep on eating when I have a chance. I seriously doubt there's anything in a hotdog that I haven't eaten before.

I'm a hot dog junkie. for my 40th birthday I mapped out a tour of Connecticut's famous hot dog joints and with the wife and kids, made a weekend out of it. My in-laws typically give me a 3 lb. box of my favorite CT brand (Mucke's) for birthdays, Fathers Day, Christmas etc.

I pretty much will never turn down a dog that's put in front of me but I prefer our local deli (natural casing) dogs with all the infamous animal parts.

I will take them boiled in sauerkraut and beer and covered in spicy mustard and sweet pickle relish, or grilled and covered with cheese and my own chili. I do like a good hot pepper relish when I can find one and that goes with yellow mustard.

When my kids were growing up I told them I had two unbreakable rules in my house: you can't root for the New York Yankees and you can't put ketchup on a hot dog.

My wife laughs at me because I only eat my dogs with mayonnaise and onion. I mean come on. Around here a standard American bologna is just a flat hot dog so…

Grill them when I rarely have them these days - cheese, chili, ketchup, mustard. If no chili, then relish and the rest. Rather have a grilled brat, takes longer - hot dogs are gone in about 3 bites, lol.
