I'm glad hockey is back, but I'm not planning on paying to go to any games this season. If they can strike for 1/2 a season, so can I. Of course, being a Carolina Hurricanes fan it's easy since they seem to be committed to losing lately. Losing 5 to 1 on opening night hints that the trend may continue. :crying:

I'm a die hard Bruins fan, and not not a bandwagon fan from a couple years ago, they've been my team since I was about 7. Its always fun, seeing as my brother is a Habs fan.
Bruins had a good opener today beating the Rangers 3-1, with my boy Lucic scoring the first goal of the season for them.

I'm also a Islanders fan, unfortunately they lost by one tonight :(

Die hard Stars fan here. Glad that hockey's back; don't care about all the crap behind the scenes - just give me Stars games to watch and enjoy. Good game for us too. That PIT @ PHI game sure had a playoff feel to it.

I don't blame the players for the lockout. They were trying to protect their jobs and their current pay rate. Also, I heard the big arguement in the latter part of the lockout was chopping the salary cap down so that role players would have less of a chance to make the rosters and the superstars could keep their big paychecks.
As for the sport I love it! Been playing and watching it for about twenty years now. I started out an Eric Lindros fan and since his retirement my loyalties have shifted to the Bruins and my home state Blue Jackets. It was a good opener for both squads as they both picked up a win this evening. I know the Jackets have little to no shot at a playoff run but, I'm hoping my Bruins can go all the way. With Horton back with Krejic and Lucic plus Chara on the back end and Rask in net it should be a benifit for the Bruins that it's only 48 games.

I am exercising my right to strike this season so nope I will not be watching the NHL I have been taking in a lot of junior games at the local arena though and really enjoying that. Was a huge Northstars back in the day but now I watch the Senators if I had to say I follow any team. Really more of a football fan.....I know sacrilage coming from a Canadian but I love my Patriots!

I was a die hard Wings fan but I've drifted away over the years.
Although I'm a sucker for those old Norris Div. Teams. That was great hockey growing up.

Die hard Bruins fan here. We are off to a good start. Started going to the games in 1966 and grew up watching the greatest player in the history of the game. Number 4 Bobby Orr. If it wasn't for that mother////ckr Ken Dryden, we would have won 2- 3 more cups back then. I hate the Habs. lol

haha harris, i can't see a Bruins fan hating the Habs. i was a big Habs fan growing up (a big Patrick Roy fan actually). I'd also give my vote for Orr as one of the greatest of all time and i hear he's a class act off the ice too!

Good to know you are a bruins fan, Harris. I lived in Boston in the late 90s so i caught a few games there.
I work in Toronto now and live in Niagara about an hour away, so I should be a leafs fan but I can't stand them. I grew up in Western Canada so historically I'm an Oilers fan. However, one of my wife's relatives plays for the NY Rangers now, so it seems like everyone in our entire family is now a Rangers fan. An odd thing to be in Ontario.
