Pretty much just as the title says I am struggling to find a replacement for hh burley flake. I only managed to stash away 3 of the 100g tins so I am holding off on enjoying those for a while.

I like the role that dfk plays in hh bf and have yet to find anything else like it.

A little more info on my preference in this blend type to help with any suggestions I am a huge fan of cobblestone hiking (I am pretty sure also discontinued but not 100% on that).

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but cobblestone is 100% discontinued.

I look forward to hear others recommendations for replacements.

Ouch yep I thought so. Bummer I am a fan of the cobblestone line. Chess night is also a favorite and their Kentucky plug is next best to hh odf.

Crazy times we are in right now. Most of my favorites are no more.

I'm in the same boat, and even regarding the few MB blends that STG is retaining, I just know they're going to pervert them into a shadow of what they once were. If I'm wrong, I'll eat my hat.

On second thought, I'll leave the hat alone. I blew through my tobacco budget this past quarter...can't afford a new hat! :ROFLMAO:

Can’t think of anything similar that is still available, flake or not.

Solani Aged Burley Flake is worth a try, unless it was a casualty of the STG massacre. Not especially similar to HHBF but you might enjoy it.

Burley Flake has a unique flavor profile with more richness than others I’ve run across. They definitely got the best out of the Kentucky in the blend and processed it right.

Never got floral from it just chocolate and molasses. Reminded me a lot of Edgeworth.
I mostly get chocolate, smooth peanut butter, a touch of grass, lots of earthiness, and, every so often, just a kiss of something floral. It’s a fantastic blend.

Never had Edgeworth but I really didn’t like the Sutliff Edgeworth match. Those style of super chocolatey burleys aren’t up my alley. I wasn’t a big fan of the Mac Baren Burley London blend for that same reason.

C&D Burley Flake #5 is sold as a burley forward blend with a Virginia backing and DFK in the background. Sounds similar to HH, but no doubt has the distinct flavor of C&D burley.

I picked up a tin a few weeks back and have been meaning to compare it with HH flake, but haven’t gotten around to it.

If some members here are interested maybe we can do bind tasting with a few burley flakes.

I was fortunate enough to pick a few tins of hiking to get me by for a little bit, it is one of my go to burleys. Id love to have alternatives. I couldn't find any HH burly flake =[
I would have recommended Hiking but it is discontinued as well.

As a big fan of burley, I haven't yet come across anything quite like HHBF, unfortunately.

In a tangential profiles, Wessex Burley Slices has less of a chocolate taste to it and more like a cocoa (if, like me, you find all chocolate to be disgusting but can find cocoa to be more tolerable of a flavor, even though that's apparently backwards from everyone else), it won't replace HHBF, but you might like it OK.

Savinelli Jupiter is a touch closer and has whispers of the woodier aspect of HHBF.

Modern Solani ABF (past 2-4 years at least, whenever K&K/Kopp started making it) is just straight chocolate tasting to the point you'd swear it was a chocolate aromatic (at least to me). I actually gave away the two tins I had because I couldn't stand the overwhelming chocolate nature.

When C&D Eight State Burley comes out, you can get some of the more floral aspects and may like it as well, though again, it's definitely not going to be the same.

More of not the same, but distinct in their own right, would be most of LJP's burley blends (between the aromatic and non aromatic burley samplers, that could be a good introduction to the breadth of possibility with burley-based blends when people don't just dump chocolate flavor on them and say "eh, fuck it, good enough, now let's make 300 more va blend variations").
