A little bit of a strange topic to start a thread on, but hey, this is Pipesmagazine after all. I need the assistance of you all in figuring out how to spend my money.

For the backstory, several months ago I was very (very) generously gifted a SmokingPipes gift card by the esteemed and distinguished members of the Pipesmagazine Secret Santa 2023 Thread. It was, and is, way too much. I purchased a new-to-me Peterson with a portion of the card. The remainder sits in digital limbo, waiting to be spent.

Until now. I am heading to Florida on vacation in about 2 weeks. I plan on using the rest of the card on a purchase and sending it to my hotel, where I can bring it back to Canada. I feel like this is the most cost effective way to use the card without paying onerous shipping charges and paying crushing duties.

But here is the challenge: I don't know what to get.

Here is a general outlay of my smoking preferences and some background;

- I usually only smoke a pipe while mowing the lawn, about once a week.
- If not then, it's when I have a neighbor over with his cigars and scotch
- I still struggle to get breathing / packing / drying correctly
- I have a cellar already with a mixed bag of blends, including some codger blends I bought last year
- My best success (in terms of staying lit / getting flavours) was from Dunhill Nightcap.

This will be the only foreseeable trip to the US I will do in a while where I could ship something to myself, so I'd like to use the card up on this trip.

Quite a bizarre quandary to be in for sure, so any help is appreciated, even if it's just "send the card to me LOL"

Perhaps I missed it but I think it’s important to know how you plan on getting it back into Canada. Stashed in a car? Personal luggage? Mail? How?

If I was a Canadian I'd be thinking quanity. Quality is important too, but you need some lbs.

Too bad D&R is mostly gone.

If SP has some Ryback in stock, you could get 6 or 7 pounds of some good stuff.

Or a few pounds of Two Timer and A few of Ryback.
If he gets caught importing weight, he’ll be taxed and levied and taxed again with a side order of fines and taxes and duties. I love the enthusiasm but I suspect fella ain’t a billionaire.

Who’s making pipes that you want but haven’t purchased yet?

"A nice horn stemmed Ropp would be nice, but I may have enough pipes as it is".

You answered your own question in another thread earlier this morning.

You can get two Ropp Vintage series horn stemmed pipes for around $192.

You may have enough pipes, but do you have a horn stem pipe? 😉
