I do wonder if using the $192 on a pipe might be better in that the tobacco will get turned into ash, but you will have the pipe for the foreseeable future.
👍🏻
Let alone the chance that he buys tobacco that gets duties and fines and someday his countrymen change direction and such nonsense goes away (long shot, but everyone has a breaking point).

I’d reiterate-buy something you wouldn’t otherwise spend that amount on frivolously.

@mikethompson you and I have a similar cadence of smoking and maybe similar tastes and experiences/frustrations. I struggled for years to get more than a burnt flavor from tobacco. A few blends that helped me immensely to start tasting the leaves and are forgiving if you puff too hard: Plum Pudding (any of them), Newminster No. 400 Superior Navy Flake, and Hearth and Home Anniversary Kake. Also I have recently been smoking some Capstan Blue Flake and it has some good notes, but is not as forgiving as Newminster No. 400. Thus, Capstan requires more attentiveness. Hope that helps!

I'm leaning towards that as well, and have my eye on a new pipe

Thanks! I may add some of that to my purchase!

Don't get maple syrups and Canadian bacon here. I can't really recommend beers neither. If you're into Night Cap, might I suggest following.

Ashton Artisan's Blend
Ashton Consummate Gentleman
Peterson Old Dublin
GLP Cairo
GLP Odyssey
GLP Meridian

Thanks to all who have replied!

I think I have my cart in order. All I have to do now is; a) hope no one snatches the pipe from under me, and b) time the delivery right so I will be in the hotel when it arrives.
Come on spill it!

I might look at C&D bulk.
They make many blends of every genre and are generally dry and easy to keep lit. It is also relatively inexpensive.
Their tin descriptions tell you everything you need to know about the blend.....they are possibly the best at tin descriptions.
Then smuggle that precious weed back to Canada!! :)
