Ed, you're the reason I got involved in the pipe community. I stumbled across a random pipe forum looking for a quick answer and you were the first to lend a hand. Your expertise and generousity amazed me. Although we've never met in person, I'm honored to call you a good friend. Your presence on the forum will be greatly missed.
Godspeed uncle Ed. I wish you all the best.
Your friend,

Dave

I am glad to see you do the best thing for your health. That is where the gladness ends; as a fellow Grabow fan, I have always valued and enjoyed your posts. You, and your amazing wealth of knowledge, will truly be missed around here. Best of luck, and I hope we hear from you again.

Ed,

Very sad to see you go, but you obviously need to do what's best for your long term health. Your presence on the forum will be missed.

Best wishes,

Philobeddoe

Oh wow, this is disheartening. You're one of those who has been since long before I joined. I always enjoyed your posts, and I don't recall a time you ever wrote an unfriendly post. You're health is what's most important, so do what you gotta do. But if you can do so without leaving the forum, please do. I'm sure we'd all love to see a post from you from time to time. Be well.

Well, shit. :crying:
That was my first response, as well. You will be missed, sir. Your posts were always knowledgeable and articulate. I have read a good many posts of yours regarding pipes and restoration and you are top class. Godspeed to you, Ed. I pray your health stays good and I look forward to an annual update on your life on here, at least.
Sincerely,
Mike

So sad! Just know you've left this community a better place than it would have been without you!

Damn, Ed.
I'm so sorry to hear about the health issues and I hope it's something you can get squared away soon.
I'm going to miss your posts something fierce. You were one of the first members here who took the time to patiently answer my dumbass/FNG questions and the resto job you did on my busted up to hell and gone Comoy's Blue Riband is still a thing of beauty.
More importantly, you'll always be my go-to guy for anything DG related.
Folks, here's a link to Ed's website: http://www.ozarksouthpawpipes.com (Please go to Etsy and search for Ozarksouthpawpipes.) His tampers are functional works of art.
Tipping my hat to you, Mr. James. "Miss Jean Louise. Miss Jean Louise, stand up. Your father's passing."

Thanks guys,I appreciate your sentiments, comments and support ! I have COPD and should have quit smoking many years ago. 50 years of smoking, cigarettes for 40 of them have caught up with me. If I thought I could quit and keep the pipes and not smoke them I would but if they are here-I will smoke. Once I get them out of my system I'll check in on y'all !

Thanks Jim for plugging my website and Etsy store.

Forgot to mention that most of the pipes I have listed on Etsy are not mine. They belong to an old friend who is downsizing and cannot sell them himself. Probably won't list my stuff on my website. Will either be listed On Ebag or the Grabow forum--since the biggest part of my collection is Grabow's. I may have a few tins of tobacco to offer here.

You can do it. Pipe smoking is a great hobby, but like all things, it eventually comes to an end. Best wishes on your new adventures!

Selfishly I am sorry for your decision, but health is first. Life always changes and there are so many other things that can catch your interest.

Following your posts I understood that you are a really nice person and I will miss you.

My best wishes to you!
