Is this thread supposed to be a eulogy type thing or the forum’s version of CSI?

I remember Gene most from behind enemy lines, enemy of the state, the Mexican and the replacements - no doubt more to do with my age than his most memorable performances.

Edit: I just looked up his filmography and saw he was a voice in the animated movie Ants! I loved that film as a kid

PM CSI. One can only hope that someone from the local authorities is a member on here and learning the truth.

Might need to dig back in the PM archives and see what was sleuthed out of the incident on the set of the movie “Rust”.

“Hackman's daughters and granddaughter shared a statement to Fox News Digital regarding his death: "It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father, Gene Hackman and his wife, Betsy. He was loved and admired by millions around the world for his brilliant acting career, but to us he was always just Dad and Grandpa. We will miss him sorely and are devastated by the loss."

So, where were they as their beloved father was rotting?

There's a film he made with Al Pacino in 1973 called Scarecrow that I'd never heard of. Looks interesting and i'm definitely gonna try and find a way to watch it.

"Two vagabonds—Max Millan (Gene Hackman), a short-tempered ex-convict, and Francis Lionel "Lion" Delbuchi (Al Pacino), a childlike former sailor—meet on the road in California and agree to become partners in a car-wash business when they reach Pittsburgh"

As for condemning the daughters for neglect, at least they tried their best to like Betsy. His son and first wife were never buddies after the divorce.

Sing one Waylon

My old grandma Mammy used to say, there’s a lid for every pot.

Gene Hackman did not play Robert Redford or Warren Beaty or Richard Gere or Brad Pitt roles. He was sort of a modern Humphrey Bogart.

Spin one, Justin Trevino The Texas Caruso and beautiful Miss Sharon Kansater!

There is just no way under the sun a sixty year old tough bald guy, would ever in a million years, have the nerve and gumption to pick up a drop dead gorgeous twentysomething Eurasian long legged concert pianist playing a Steinway.

But the babe on the piano thought, that’s Gene Hackman in my audience.

He’s kind of cute.:)

My Mama used to watch people in shopping malls, when she retired at age 55.

I was with her once at the mall in Springfield, seeking refuge from my marriage to the most beautiful daughter of the wealthiest banker in Southwest Missouri, and this May September couple just floated by, happy as could be, and I started crying, not much, my eyes just watered.

She said cheer up, Vanny.

The weakness of every beautiful young girl, is an older man’s security and stability and charm.

But you’ll never find out until you get the nerve to leave that woman, before you wake up dead one morning.

She said she’ll probably kill your son and herself too.

But you can’t start over, sitting here with your still somewhat glamorous mother.:)

And like Mammy said, there’s a kid for every pot.

It wasn’t long afterwards I went to my father in law’s mansion with his daughter to arrange for a divorce.

Sing one Jessie Colter!

Do not feel sorry for Gene and Betsy.

They lived high on a hilltop for 35 years.
