I'm a little overwhelmed by all the delicious-sounding choices from G.L. Pease. I have never found reviews to be too helpful, as the actual experience for each person is different, although there are some benchmarks that everyone can agree on. What seems to help me is comparing them to similar tobaccos I have liked.

I know G.L. Pease puts out the Drucquer and Sons line, which I love. My favorites are Blairgowrie, Levant Mixture, and Trafalgar. I find the other blends a little weak or not to my liking overall.

Can anyone give me some guides on what to get? I'm going to do a 2 oz. sample of sorts and order about 10 blends and see how it goes.

Thanks!

My favorites (in no particular order) are Chelsea Morning, Filmore, Gaslight, Key Largo, Quiet Nights, Sixpence, Telegraph Hill, and Windjammer.

Best tin description is a two way tie -

Gasight
On a misty, moonless night, along twisted cobblestone lanes illuminated only by the glow of ancient iron lanterns, you follow a scent as dark as the night itself, the exotic fragrance hauntingly familiar, compelling, irresistible...
Open the tin. Discover the mystery.

Sixpence
You enter the dark paneled room, its walls lined with ancient books. An antique table stands beside a leather club chair. Upon it, next to a small silver coin, an open tobacco tin entices you with an aroma deep, rich, authentic. You fill your bowl, strike a match. The first puff stops time as the smoky magic weaves its spell...
Sixpence. The mystery continues.

In addition to the others mentioned: Navigator and Regents Flake are high on my list of non-Latakia blends.
Recently opened a tin of Regents Flake, I highly recommend it, especially if you have a lot of smoky tobacco already. My tin had a couple of years on it, my only regret is not buying more of it earlier. Such a lovely smoke. Sweet and smooth.

I didn't like Robusto or Blackpoint very much, but I'll revisit them later. I need to read the tobacco breakdowns on them again, see if there's a commonality.
