I'm not familiar with the brand/maker. What drew you to the pipe you purchased?

Up here in Scandinavia, Norwegian Made Lillehammer pipes were in high demand back in the days,I have had three of them ,very nice pipes

Many of these pipes are in the old British style, with silver embellishments and amber stems, and very often cased. I've seen several beautiful examples.

Here are the pics the seller used. The first thing that caught my attention was the shape, it’s very similar to an Orlik I own, which is probably my favourite pipe. I wasn’t familiar with the make either so doing a bit of research added to the joy of purchase. The price helped too. Lol

So she turned up yesterday. Hands down most beautiful pipe in my collection now. I tried to take a pic to show the handmade rim, it has an amazing bevel curving into the chamber....and it’s unsmoked ?

I'm a newly-minted Lillehammer owner, having just acquired this lovely Best Make Dublin estate from Smokingpipes.com. As a person of Norwegian descent, I just couldn't pass up the opportunity to own a bit of Norwegian piping history in one of my favorite shapes!

Gudbrand Larsen was the founder of this brand back in 1842. Nice looking pipes.

I could be wrong, but I remember reading that the brand was purchased by stanwell or something

Ahi, in March I sold mine - four unsmoked and one smoked - to Greger from the Swedish Club. He collect them and have about 300 , so I thought they would go the right place.

glad to hear they went to a good home. I know they were sentimental pipes, not like your huybretch but still up there. Now I just need to figure out a way to trick you into parting with your orliks ?
