After Hijacking another thread (sorry again) -- I decided this would make a great discussion. What are you favorite top 5 (or so) television series'.
Although I enjoyed many in the '70s and '80s growing up, mine are more recent.
1. Boardwalk Empire

2. The Soprano's

3. X-Files

4. Lost

5. Breaking Bad
Honorable mention: Dr. Who (the new ones), Deadwood, Arrested Development, Better Call Saul
What do you like to watch?

I tend to like almost any BBC production of detective stories.

Vegas Baby!!!
Warren, I loved Foyle's War and pretty much all the BBC kinda stuff. Luther, Vera, Martin, you get the idea. Plus Australia and New Zealand have some pure gold.
An Acorn TV subscription really pays off.

I have to give Arrested Development props. Not only was it funny, well cast, and well written, it pushed the envelope without going over the top. Great show!
Correction, old brain, Brother Cadfael, not father.

Listing my all time top 5 is going to be difficult, but I'll give it a try.
Battlestar Galactica

24

Sons Of Anarchy

Star Trek The Next Generation

Hell On Wheels
Well there's a long list of other shows from the 80's to now that should probably be mentioned as well, but at least I tried.
