I had low expectations for Inspector Lewis. BBC pulled it off though. Lewis was right up there with Morse as a character. I feared the writing would suffer without Colin Dexter to keep an eye on the character. Didn't happen.

I've seen a few people mention M.A.S.H and I'm almost embarrassed I didn't mention that one myself. What an amazing mixture of comedy and serious drama that show was.
