I love my S&W 40 VE! If I had more money I'd def have a Kimber Pro Carry 9mm. That's about as fancy as I get though. I like my guns basic. I've been looking at a Mossberg Maverick 88 20 gauge for a while now. They kick like a horse but I'll be damned if they don't fire each time.

In Canada, gun ownership is a lot less common then in the states, that said, I have for ages and ages wanted to buy a handgun for use at the range (there is one less than 15 minutes from my house), never been able to take the plunge.

Well I'll start this off by saying I don't own a gun but one that I'd like to own more than any other is a Colt 1851 Navy Revolver.

I'd like to have it in the original cap and ball for the cool factor of it. I love all that smoke and fire and the little ritual that goes with loading it. Haha a few of the same reason I love pipe smoking.

I haven't really thought about something in a rifle too much but seeing all the Mosins reminded me of how much I love those. I wouldn't kick a K98 out of bed either.

I just found an incredible buy at a local shop. It's a Kahr .40 Cal (K-40) semiautomatic with night sights. Used, but tight. It appears to have never been fired... $479.00. I couldn't resist. This is now clearly my favorite carry weapon and, at half price, my favorite purchase in quite some time.

Hi All
Like Buckeye I tend to move more toward the "old west" style - I have a 1858 Navy Cap and Ball (Steel frame), picking up two (2) 1851's Uberti Cap and Balls in Brass in a couple of weeks, a 38 Old Style pocket pistol, 50 cal Hawken, Remi 552 22LR (going to shoot silouettes with) and 12 guage Mossberg pump (for home protection). Looking to buy in the next 90 days a 45/70 either Sharps (Uberti copy) or Marlin 45/70 Lever Action. I will most likely reload the 45/70's for long-distance shooting.
Member of SASS as well.
Long live the Cowboy dream!

Those are some great guns travlr.

Heres some good pipesmoking reading on Vince Lupo who set a World Record taking all 6 Big Game African species with a .45/70.

Well I have a few but just for good and affordable fun I have a 1953 22 cal. Ruger. Nice little gun and ammo is cheap!

I was cleaning out the attic and found a JC Higgins model 20-12 gauge shotgun, and a Winchester pump action .22: turns out I am a gun owner after all.

If I had to choose just one I would have to go for one gun I dont have but have always wanted and that would be the 1911 Colt 45acp. But in regards to this thread just about anything colt makes I'm a huge fan, I just love the styly of a colt and the all around perfect craftsmanship of a Colt. I have right beside my comp sitting a 1871 model Colt single action Army Revolver in mint condition.

This is my Taurus .38 Special Ultra-lite. It fits my hand perfectly and is very accurate.

and this is our .22 cowboy pistol. It's a bitch to take apart but it's probably the one we'll use to teach the kids to shoot.

Sweet little 38 Cyndi, my fav is a 38 also, a Colt Diamondback 3 inch bbl. The action is as smooth as silk. A great carry pistol with decent firepower, but nothing beats the old 45 Caliber IMHO.

The only kind of firearm I've ever shot would be my Bauer Vapor X60 hockey stick. With the multiple flex zones on that thing it's a freakin' rocket launcher. Can easily shoot around 85mph with that stick.

Ugly as a piece of Tupperware melted in the dishwasher. Absolutely no aesthetic appeal, no historical cache.
But it goes bang every single blessed time. I have a Gen1 with 40,000+ rounds without a failure. My current EDC Gen3 has 11,000+ rounds without a failure.
I own plenty of guns that are nifty and pretty and much to be admired. But my "favorite" is the one I can and do rely on.

that old J-fame 642 gets a LOT of carry. The Pug, not so much, but is still the Plan B for concealed carry. The wife has a the "Lady Smith" airweight 642 with Walnut grips. I can find no differences at all between hers and mine, other than the inscription of "LadySmith".
Hard to say which of my firearms is my "favorite", but I do know that the 642 is with me almost all the time.
